I've shopped electronic game stores since the early days of EB and Babbages. Gamestop does still maintain and stock a few high profile stores, sadly Rutland isn't one of them. Like most locations, they keep a basic supply of titles and usually one salesperson, which is a shame. It's still a decent way to pick up a few titles or a used system, easier than dealing with sight unseen refurbs from the big A. For many years the the best experiences to be had were going in to talk to the game-loving knowledgeable people, gleaning artifacts of wisdom on the latest releases or help with locating treasures throughout the store supply chain. Most people won't even be aware of what they missed, buying online or reading feedback to figure out whether a digital purchase is worth their time. Vae Victus

If they try to push a warrenty onto you, be careful. I bought a system there and was asked if I wanted the $50 warrenty. I tried to decline the offer but the lady sold it to me claiming the warrenty was good for any kind of damage, even damage caused by me. She gave several examples including water damage, being dropped ect.. A year later my system started having trouble loading games but worked great other than that. They tell me I cant exchange it because it was mishandled. Other than lying to costomers to get more money I like the store. Just cant trust their word anymore.

This place is never open, even when they're supposed to be. They give terrible trade value, so bad compared to even a year ago. How can you sell a preowned PS4 Pro for $300 but only give $70 in store credit, cash was less....? Used to be around half their selling price or close to it. They seem to be getting worse by the day. Staff is friendly, but that doesn't make up for the shortcomings of the business.
