Worst Holiday Inn I've stayed at in the continental United States. My wife is a manager at the one in my home town so I know from experience that the staff there makes it a horrible stay there

Desk was always on the phone so when you have a question it like your bothering them.

I came to Port Arthur for a work trip and decided to give this hotel another try after many years having stayed there. I stayed one night and informed the front desk that I would be working night shift, to not disturb and asked for a late check out. After going to sleep at 6 AM, I was awoken to banging on my door at 8 AM asking if I am checking out already. I'm here at the hotel to sleep. I still don't know why it was necessary to knock on my door to ask if I'm checking out. This hotel should place its guests sleep over whatever else was needed, especially if informed of working night shift. I went back to sleep, then 1 hour before my checkout the same person came by to ask if I'm checking out AGAIN. Do restaurants pester guests to get out of their seats after finishing their meal? What is the need / business decision to do that? I won't be coming back to this hotel even though the rooms were technically just OK, because they cant handle guests sleeping during the day (which is crazy because this is Port Arthur - an industrial complex with other people doing the exact same thing as me). My advise: Go to the Marriott or other properties offered at the same price with no shenanigans.
