Absolutely love Dr. Hood. Great personality and sense of humor. Preformed my neck surgery and most definitely will preform my lower back surgery. Great bedside manner and answers questions without feeling rushed. 5 stars

If I could give a lower rating, I would. My back fusion operation was a disaster. A year later shows broken pieces of metal in my back and no fusion. I developed an infection after surgery and because Dr Hood was non-responsive, I ended up in the hospital and rehab for another 1 1/2 months. Another beautiful ne in my back was broken and had to be repaired. Avoid this doctor at all costs!

In 2020, during the peak of Covid, I needed surgery to repair a failed back surgery for Spondylolisthesis. I had a lumbar fusion in 2013. The pain I thought the surgery would help alleviate or lessen, never happened. Desperate for relief, I found Dr. Brian Hood, in Waco Texas at the time. I shared my concerns of my previous surgeon moving weeks after my surgery and feeling abandoned. He ordered new imaging revealing severe stenosis in various areas of my spine and retrolisthesis. The 1st surgery and recovery was long and hard. In the hospital for 5 days, on a walker for 6 weeks, I couldn't sleep in a bed for months, having to sleep in a recliner. I could only work part-time due to the pain. Dr. Hood performed the surgery. Removed the old hardware, replaced it with new hardware and fused the discs just above the previous fusion. I remember waking up in recovery and being wheeled into my room on the gurney. I sat up with some assistance from my nurse and WALKED to my bed. I walked! It felt like a miracle. I could barely move my first days after my prior surgery, much less walk. I slept in the hospital bed that night! I slept! In a bed! I was released the next morning, less than 24 hrs later. I slept in my own bed that night. He instructed me to walk, walk, walk. And walk I did. I used a walking stick for balance only. I was back at work a couple of weeks later compared to over 3 months the 1st time. A year ago, I was able to return to work full-time. I was elated. Dr. Hood did move and I feared being abandoned once more. But Dr.Hood checked on me even after he moved. If I ever need another surgery, and I probably will, I will seek out Dr. Hood wherever he may be . He ended my suffering and I am forever grateful. Thank you Dr. Hood and thank God I found you. Divine intervention? Yep! I believe so! C.Horten
