UMB Bank

As a one time wall street guy and someone who does a fair amount of business, i found banks and bankers to be mostly the same: cliche and check-box. I must say that my experience with UMB bank was certainly different and better. Especially Adam Donahue, Senior VP, who was very CREATIVE (not check-box) in CUSTOMIZING my commercial loan package. I had three approvals with banks who were competing with each other with the SAME basic structure. i was quibbling over rates at that point. Then i met Adam, who proposed a novel structure, which seemed like it came out of left field at the time. BUT WE GOT IT DONE! and i got a good rate to boot. HE EVEN SHOWED UP AT MY CLOSING. the cherry on top is that i consider adam a friend now. we get together for lunch frequently, and he's invited me to outside functions. he EARNED my business and trust and therefore his advice carries more clout than the unbidden barrage of products shoved in your face when you walk into a wells fargo or chase (nice as those people are). UMB is lucky to have Adam Donahue, because i am not an "easy sell."
