So it's been over 2 years. He's been paid. Haven't seen him since. Says he ordered all this stuff and nothing's come in. I would just like my house fixed or my money back. I think I waited long enough

I hired TJ back in August 2022 to remodel four restrooms to make them ADA compliant. He was hired to get plans for submittal to the City of Lubbock. He demanded a large down payment to which we paid. Two months later there were no plans so I hired an outside firm to which TJ paid (but that took over two weeks for him to do with numerous calls along with numerous promises that never happenedred flags right there). The scope of work increased and a change order was provided. TJ failed to include another contractors pricing into his quote and that caused additional overruns which we paid out of pocket. Once work started in January it took him over three months to complete, if you want to call it that. During our final walk through he realized that the craftsmanship provided was subpar at best and he just disappeared claiming he had to pick his kids up from school?? Regardless we had to bring in another contractor to fix all of his deficiencies and while doing so discovered numerous items that he clearly tried to hide (HVAC ductwork never reconnected, electrical wiring left hanging in ceiling cavities, wall studs not nailed in place or missing completely, framing out of level, flooring not leveled off, sheetrock dust everywhere due to not tar ping off his area, and plan layouts not achieved due to no supervisionthe list would go on and on honestly). On top of all that we are now receiving liens from his suppliers and subcontractors due to him not paying his bills. If you do end up hiring this contractor I would highly recommend you agree to pay upon completion with lien releases so you do not get into the situation that he currently is putting us throughbetter yet save your time and just find someone else. Trust me on this you do not want to hire this company!! Lastly the new company we hired came in and it took them one week to complete all the repairsthey also laughed that it took them three months to provide what he considered a final product. Our new contractor said worse case the duration should not have lasted over a month which is what I envisioned on the front end too. I contacted TJ to get an estimate on re-bricking my fireplace.  We scheduled a time for him to arrive and he didn't show up or call.  After 40 minutes after he was supposed to be there, I texted him to ask if we should reschedule.  He replied and was very apologetic and said that he was setting a cathedral ceiling and was finishing up.  He suggested we reschedule for the next day at 5:30, and again he didn't show up or call.  I reached out to him again and asked if he was coming and his reply was "Yeah I ain't coming, it is hailing".  How unprofessional was that?!  I didn't respond, thinking he would contact me to reschedule, but he didn't, and I didn't contact him again.  He was very professional and extremely polite and was very helpful in our initial phone calls, but he was a no-show twice.  I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL.  BEWARE FOLKS.
