My banking experience through First Capital Bank was a very stress free experience for the more than ten years I was with them. After First Capital Bank was acquired by Prosperity Bank my experience has changed over the last few months. Overall, I have not run into many significant issues. The staff however has become more apathetic to any issues you may have and will assist you at a bare minimum in resolving any issues you may have. I will likely start looking into other banking options in the coming weeks.

Worst Banking Experience Ever!!! While buying a new car we contacted First Capital Bank in Lubbock to see if a loan with them would allow us to make payments with a credit card so we could get points. We were assured repeatedly by the Personal Banker that this was very much an option. She even called someone else to verify they were still taking Visa credit cards. So we did the loan her her at the Milwaukee branch. When it was time to make a payment the system would not take a credit card. We were given different reasons for this by the Personal Banker, Banking Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. Long story short, final word was that we were given wrong information (several times) and this agreement would not be honored. This misinformation has cost us considerably, both monetarily as well as all the time we wasted on this matter. Also, after 1 1/2 months we have yet to receive anything by mail or email regarding account payment/access. This is after bringing it to their attention multiple times. I would strongly discourage anyone from getting a loan from this bank as their employees do not know what they are talking about.

This bank is a model of how to be jerks and bootlickers. My 15 year old works for a local restaurant, with a great reputation, but they use First Capital as their payroll bank, and First Capital harasses my kid every time she attempts to cash her paycheck. Today they flat refused to cash it at all. "Aimee - Trainee" the tele-clerk from the sixth level of administrative hell said that the same school I.D. which has been used to cash previous paychecks isn't valid and refused to get a manager on the line. I know banks make money by holding other people's money, but stealing from a fifteen year old because "that's not government issued I.D." is a bold move for a soulless corporate lackey on the other side of a video screen. Any lawyer want to sue a bank for refusing to cash paychecks drawn on their bank? I hope West Texans get tired of your terrible customer service and drive you out of Lubbock.
