Holiday Inn Express & Suites Irving DFW Airport North, an IHG Hotel

If it wasn't by an airport, it would have closed down by now. Only used it to watch the eclipse while on a stop over near the airport. IHG are really trashing their brand by allowing hotels like this to operate under the holiday inn express name. Rooms: Bizarre window Whited out by crap. No attempt made to clean it. Wires loose in half made furniture. Safe not working. Very strange. And a mystery $15 charge on check in that will be refunded weeks later. They can't explain why. Really bad

Close to airport, but not very close as you still have to get out of the airport to get here. Room was really big. Not sure if that is all the rooms or just the one we got. Nonetheless, it was big, spacious, and clean. Breakfast area was crowded and they ran out of food many times. There also was not enough space to seats to sit and eat. The front desk person at checkout was not very warm. Also not very knowledgeable and gave us wrong info, but then corrected it, so perhaps was just new. Rooms: Big spacious rooms atleast 301 is. BTW the directions when you get out of elevators is incorrect for 301.

I stayed at this hotel on May 29th for a few hours of sleep, before our connecting flight early the next morning. Everywhere said they had a shuttle that ran 3:30am till late. When we tried to book they were full till 5am so we had to order an Uber, that is apparently super expensive in Dallas, $40 for a 7 min ride. In the Uber, after check out, I realized I left my Apple watch. Long story short one of their employees and found it and tried to steal it. My dad lives in town and was able to help me and threaten calling the cops. The employee returned it, after having to threaten them. Apparently they work at both this hotel AND the Aloft airport hotel. Its now April 7, and I still havent gotten a call from the hotel with an apology. Beyond shocked that this occurred at a Holiday Inn airport hotel.

Friendly staff and clean rooms. Mattress locked new. But the blinds had a hole when we arrived and the windows are not very sound proof. If you are a light sleeper it might not be the best choice. Or at least request. Room not next to the road Safety: Latches on rooms look pretty cheap and can de detached from the outside as well as check in the front desks person did say the floor we are on. Which normally I would feel safer when they dont mention anything as a female checking in
