I normally dont write bad reviews, but the night shift staffer was so incredibly rude it was unbelievable. After waiting for over an hour at the airport for the hotel shuttle, I decided to take an Uber. Upon checking in, I tell the worker I waited over an hour and he instantly gets hostile with me. Blames me for being in the wrong place, for not waiting long enough, etc. He didnt want to book my morning shuttle and then threatened me under his breath as I walked away. Completely unacceptable behavior. When I asked for his name he said it was Pino, but he was probably lying. Manager - night shift worker on Monday, April 8 night

I HATE leaving a 1-star review. But this place, La Quinta Inn by the Houston Bush Airport, deserves it and the front desk guy on 4-9-23 absolutely deserves it. The room (227) smells like decades-old smoke, one (just one) closet smelled like BO, I had to keep it closed up. The pull-out bed was springs covered in a sheet (ok, a slight exaggeration but I ask hotel management to spend a night on it).
To hotel management: you couldve avoided this 1-star review, I wouldnt have bothered except when I checked out and politely told the carefree front desk dude, he said you booked through a 3rd party SIR and Im like Im just telling you the pull out bed is useless and hes like you dont understand what Im saying (I didnt). So he explains that because I booked through a 3rd party for my family, they dont advertise their rooms were for more than 2 people. So, theyre not responsible for the bedding for the 3rd and 4th persons. Yeah. Uh-huh.
Dear La Quinta: you need to train your staff that when a customer tells them something is broken or inadequate, they should just say ok, sorry, thanks for letting me know. And I wouldnt be forced to write this. But he didnt, and I did, and you guys need to know it sucked and your hotel smells.

Roach in my room. Hole in the towel. Only gave one soap between sink and shower. Breakfast so so. Even though the hotel is close to the airport I think the holiday inn nearby may be a better bet.

I dont usually write reviews unless they are positive. This is actually my first ever one-star review. We booked La Quinta on Kenswick Dr because it was close to Bush Intl Airport.
Upon entering the hotel, I noticed that everything seemed to be a little rundown, but didnt care. I just needed to sleep one night. The A/C didnt work, only the fan. The room was warm, but I just wanted to sleep.
Later that night, the fan died when the power went out, making my room experience unbearable. I was awake all night.
I wont give all the details here, but as I presented some options, the night manager was VERY rude with no customer service skills.
The power outage was not the hotels fault. I was told the power went out around 40 times last year. However, the Holiday Inn (across the street) had backup generators and had full power the whole time.
NOTE TO OWNER: The night manager (on Thurs/Fri March 21/22, 2024) does not represent you well. He made a difficult situation MUCH WORSE. You will have to have generators (and replace the night manager) before we will return to your business.
Nearby activities: No restaurants nearby. You will need to do DoorDash or Uber.
