I give Dr. Krishnan the highest rating. I have seen him for close to 15 years. Ultimately, I had 2 operations from him to address an enlarged prostate (2011 and 2017)....he recently confirmed that recent INCREASING nocturia issues I had begun experiencing in the middle of this year were related not to the condition of my prostate but to a bladder that urodynamics testing had shown lacked sufficient "contractility" to function properly. A fairly traditional Overactive bladder (OAB) medication (Myrbetriq) prescribed by another urologist was ineffective.....the same urologist had also prescribed "Nocdurna" (desmopressin acetate), which had some limited effectiveness but left me waking up with some side effects....the drug was also VERY expensive ($6000/year) and my insurance company wouldn't pay for it, which impelled me to return to Dr. Krishnan for his perspective....Dr. Krishnan suggested "InterStim" (Medtronic) as something to try to address my condition (and given that it is a 2 stage procedure, you literally do get to try it out for a week or so to see if it yields improvement before the "hardware" - wires attached to your sacrum in several places places plus a battery - is left in place in your body)....it is worth noting that 2 other Urologists I also consulted with (there is a bit of a story there that isn't per se particularly relevant to this review) never seemed to consider this as an option....in fact, one of them who looked at all of my data didn't think it (InterStim) was likely to work (even though he doesn't the procedure himself although is familiar with it). In short, the procedure has worked out VERY well for me and am grateful that Dr. Krishnan had the vision (and experience) to see that this procedure could be a potential solution to ameliorating my particular symptoms. It has definitely improved my condition during the day AND night (the InterStim procedure has been analogized as being a "pacemaker" for the bladder)....worth also noting that as someone who has had on again off again gastrointestinal issues that it seems to also have VERY positively impacted me in that regard as well (InterStim is also used as a treatment for fecal incontinence)....as such, I surmise that some of my prior GI issues may possibly have related to my faltering bladder condition so perhaps this has been for me another ancillary benefit of having had the surgery to install InterStim. Finally, Dr. Krishnan works in a nice office and appointments are usually as close to being "on time" as one could reasonably expect. He himself has always been quite personable and is willing to answer all questions and address any concerns in an articulate and straight forward manner. I feel fortunate to have him here 10 minutes from me in Katy, TX.
