        We had two units: 10x20 and a 10x10. We emptied both and moved into a 10x30. Only thing I would have liked was to have the money for the two units to have been credited to the new one as both empty well before the payment was due

        Another dissatisfied, long term tenant. I had my rent doubled over initial and now current market conditions after having moved in and constitently making auto payments. It was price gouging for sure. I compared to other units at this complex and others nearby, yet they refused to honor existing comparable options to keep me in market conditions, claiming the new rate was the market. But it's clearly not!! They offered me the option to downsize, which still required a full move out. Or pay their ridiculous new rates. It was bad before, but since they recently got acquired by Extra Space, it has gotten much worse. I think I'll go back to Public Storage. They never did me this way. If you're moving in here, watch out!!! The initial rate is just a teaser...

        I would not recommend Life Storage to anyone. The pricing might seem competitive but once you have all your belongings in there unit and start making payments they will increase the rate. I started out at $167 they increased it to $225 and now its $292. All payments made on time month after month. Meanwhile, they advertise the same unit at $149. It is very misleading and unfortunately if you are a loyal customer making your payments on time then your payments will increase. There are red locks all over the place from customers that arent making there payments so it seems that the ones that do have to pick up the slack. It could also be that they decide to stop paying after their rates get increased. I just want future customers to be aware since Life Storage isnt transparent about there rates. Response to owner: After receiving the first rate increase I contacted the location manager and she said there was nothing she could do about it. Also, the second increase I was never notified. I checked my email to verify. I was just charged the new rate via autopay without any notification. Does this mean I am due a refund?
