With his warm, caring nature, he particularly enjoys being part of each patients journey and transformation and is honored to help boost their self-confidence.A native of Texas, Dr. Courtney obtained his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M and went on to study medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center. For more than a decade, Dr. Courtney underwent rigorous training through his residency and fellowship programs in general surgery and plastic surgery at The Texas Medical Center, one of the most advanced and largest plastic surgery centers in the world. For this reason, patients are drawn from all over the world for plastic surgery procedures at The Texas Medical Center.During Dr. Courtneys surgical residency, he spent numerous years honing his technical and surgical skills at the busiest trauma center in the country. The experience gained through hundreds of these intricate operations quickly exposed him to different approaches and techniques, making him well-equipped and highly trained in the operating room for any complexity.After an extensive residency, Dr. Courtney pursued an additional three-year training at a distinguished Plastic Surgery fellowship program focused on cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face and body. Being fortunate to spend his entire medical and surgical training at the largest, most renowned community in the world, The Texas Medical Center in Houston, he was mentored by some of the most prominent and esteemed plastic surgeons. It was during this time that he became highly trained and proficient in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, as he was continuously exposed to the most complex and technically-challenging plastic surgery cases. Completing hundreds more procedures and gaining the most advanced skills and techniques, both surgical and non-surgical, Dr. Courtney was nationally-recognized as one of six outstanding surgeons for his research by The American Society of Plastic Surgery.Aside from his surgical skills, Dr. Courtney works closely with his patients and helps them determine their ideal outcome, setting realistic expectations and easing them through each step of the plastic surgery process. Dr. Courtney grew up in a household with three sisters and believes that this has prepared him well for his career in aesthetic surgery. Now married with two daughters, he understands the challenges and social pressure that women face, especially mothers, and can compassionately connect to his female patients. He closely listens and understands the needs and goals of each patient to develop a personalized plan and provides unparalleled care both in and out of the operating room.
