I had been experiencing drastic changes on my right eye in the past few DAYS. I work at a primary care clinic & have always seen patient being referred out to Dr. Cantu. So I thought my best choice was to go to her practice. I was able to get an app the same day. The front staff were very welcoming and the staff in the back were very professional. Once I had finished with all the exams I was waiting to be seen by Dr. CantuI had my door somewhat open and I heard a woman arguing on the phone with someone about a patient and when she hung up she proceeded to vent to the medical assistant. The medical assistant kept trying to let her know about her patient in one of the rooms but she kept on bringing up the person on the phone to the MA. Once she walked in the room the first thing she said was what are we gonna do with you, hello Im Dr. Cantu without even acknowledging me (she was the woman on the phone). Basically she did a routine vision test for new glasses, disregarding any of my right eye concerns and when I asked a question I felt as if I was being annoying she proceeded to say that the glasses I was wearing were nearsighted and that I am now farsighted she wanted me to check my A1c and glucose and that maybe that could be the cause of my blurry vision she told me to come back after bloodwork and then she would determine if to give me a new eye script! I was left confused and with more questions I had a second opinion with a new ophthalmologist and the experience was waaaaaaayyyy different. One thing that stood out to me is that Dr. Cantu said it could be my glucose but the other Dr said if it was due to your sugar levels it would effect both eyes not just one. I understand if someone is receiving government assistance shes a easy go to but if youre paying out of pocket I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go somewhere else. The only good thing about the visit was to find out how our patients are being treated.

A terribly run practice with very rude and condescending employees. I left because an hour after my appointment I still hadnt seen the doctor. Do not go if you care about your time or seeing a doctor who respects her patients.

I went to doctor Cantu from the referral of both of my parents. You will get an exam in this place like no other. It might take a little while to do all of the testing, but it is worth the wait because they are doing their job. Dr Cantu talks to you and explains everything thoroughly. She treated both of my parents for years. She is now treating me for my stigmatism and glaucoma in both eyes. She even did my cataract surgery, as well as well as laser surgery. I could not be happier with this doctor. I have referred her to several friends and they are just as happy as I am with her and her Staff. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this doctor.

I made an appointment to see the doctor for an eye issue. They scheduled me for a Monday morning. I go Monday morning and they give me an eye exam. They never asked me the purpose of the visit. They continue with the eye exam along with other test. After the eye exam and test, they gave me a prescription for new eye glasses and then they told me that o had to make a follow up appointment with the doctor CAUSE THE DOCTOR IS NOT THERE ON MONDAY MORNINGS. So just to get this straight, I come in for a certain eye issue. They gave me an eye exam which I wasnt sure why I got it but I figured it was routine since I THOUGHT I was seeing the doctor that morning, just for them to tell me the doctor is not there on Monday mornings so I had to make ANOTHER appointment to pay ANOTHER copay. Ive been to 3 eye doctors in the past and all doctors had been there on first visit. Im not sure what to think about this visit. Staff was nice but Im not understanding why I had to pay for an office visit when there was no doctor just to make another visit, TO SEE the doctor which I thought was suppose to be on the first visit.
