I am the service manager at a company with 800+ stores nationwide. Over the past year, we used ATK engines or transmissions for repairs on 10 vehicles. Out of these, 5 needed at least one warranty replacement. In total, ATK provided 17 units, including original and warranty replacements. Of these 17 units, 10 were unsatisfactory or needed further replacements. Detailed Results of ATK Units: 2000 Dodge 3.9 (Engine) 1st ATK Engine: Had a vibration as if the crank was out of balance. ATK provided a warranty replacement. 2nd ATK Engine: Threw a rod about 4 weeks post-delivery. ATK requested the engine be shipped back for warranty verification. 3rd ATK Engine: Awaiting arrival. 1989 GM 5.7 (Engine) 1st ATK Engine: Had a lower-end tap. ATK provided a warranty replacement. 2nd ATK Engine: Functioned properly. 2004 GM 5.3 (Engine) Engine functioned well, though there were intermittent tapping complaints from the customer. The issue was not verified and no warranty claim was made. 2007 Ford 5.4 (Engine) Upper-end tap identified about a month post-installation. Warranty claim not yet made, awaiting customer's decision. 2008 Nissan Murano (Transmission CVT) 1st Transmission: Defective. ATK provided a warranty replacement. 2nd Transmission: Functioned properly. 2014 Jeep Patriot (Transmission CVT) ATK provided three different units due to defects. Although the third unit functioned correctly, the process was quite embarrassing, leading to an upset customer. All replacements were under warranty. 2008 Chevy Avalanche 4l60e (Transmission) 1st & 2nd Transmissions: Both were defective. ATK provided two warranty replacements. 3rd Transmission: Functioned properly. 2007 Ford F-150 (Rear Differential): Functioned properly. 1993 Silverado (Rear Differential): Functioned properly. 2002 Tahoe (Rear Differential): Functioned properly. 2024 update: 4l60 failed after first 30 miles 2000 Suburban engine oil consumption problem

Consistently garbage quality control. Reman cylinder head for a pentastar? Cam is seized. #3 Exhaust cap was clearly labeled intake from a completely different head. Reman 2.4 ecotech? Wrong engine is in the box. Had to replace the cylinder head without any labor reimbursement. 3 5r55s transmissions on the shelf? Noope. Gotta build one, after waiting over a week for any communication. Wait weeks for the unit, and have to retap every single bolt hole on the case. As a shop owner that stands behind his work, our part suppliers need to stand behind theirs. This company is an embarrassment to the industry.

DONT DO IT!!!!! SPEND THE EXTRA $1,000 OR YOU WILL BE SORRY. MARK MY WORDS. UPDATE: I decided to change my rating from 1 to 2's due to the fact that, It's been 18months now and it starts everday... I'm going to call in the warranty again and try to see if they will acknowledge my lifters ticking. I honestly thought it would have blown up by now, truth be told..

Twice. Twice these idiots screwed me over. 1st engine they thought that they didn't need to get the HEAD BOLTS anything over hand tight. About a year of fighting later, they send out the replacement. 1st start sounded about like an industrial crusher machine. Their "Level 1 Tech" suggests that it sounds like a flywheel. Anyone with a proper set of 23 pairs knows that a flywheel is a high pitched whirring sound. took the timing cover of and found that the remanufacturing plant in mexico did't even attempt to get this hunk of $h!+ in time. Not even a little bit. At all. This is the same review I wrote on the other maps listing that popped up. I just want to properly drag these idiots as much as I can. Do all that you can to avoid these idiots.
