image Was just visiting a friend and I am handicapped. All the handicap spaces were taken had to park far from their bldg. The air around the outside of the bldgs. Stunk. Several dumpsters were overflowing and needed to be emptied.

image It's a public pool, meaning anyone from anywhere can party, wash themselves off from the beach or use it as a toilet after hours whether they live here or not Have fun with that!
We have been living here since fall of 2021. Any place you move to has an adjustment period. Keep in mind that many of the 5 star reviews are from management, employees or owners of the property themselves.
This review is based on living at this place for 2.5 yrs.
First off, you should understand the area alone is questionable! Broadwater states it's a gated community with added safety of a "concierge" officer. Neither exist!
The vehicle entrance gate on one side is and has been broken for at least the time we have been here. There isn't a "Concierge" officer that works on this property.
So, if you have a problem, you are going to have to call the police to come out and investigate anything from gun shots, vehicle break-ins, loud boom-box partying at the pool (after the pool is closed 10:00 pm) into early am.
Most of whom engage these activities are people who don't live here. So, if you work or are going to school and actually need some sleep good luck. On the other hand, if you desire to live in a public island pool area, be prepared to find diapers, smell of urine, garbage, food, glass and other things in or around the pool which will have to be closed and you'll actually be grateful it is!
This place has poor management, even now (8/23). Seriously? Michelle plays on her phone while trying to talk to you. Come to them with anything actually significant, such as break-ins, loud partying, brawl fights by the pool, abrasive advances in the parking lot and the answer is from some twenty year old saying, "There's nothing we can do..." Well then, get a different job.
Although it's fine by us, it's actually doing us a favor. There are some people who have been living here for years that haven't the ability to move. They deserve a respectful place to live.
Residents PAYING $1,000-$1,5000 should be protected, unless they are doing things that put others at harm. You, the responsible individual will not!
They will give you some drivel about legally not being able to ask if someone lives here. So basically you will have people that don't pay rent and set up camp at the pool. There's restrooms right inside the club area, changing tables, cooking area, free wi-fi, so why wouldn't you?
The apartments are cheaply made. Your bathtub will peel w/in a year. There is black mold on the vents you can't get rid of, it comes back after you've cleaned it. Floors are not wood-flooring, but glued plastic. They tear and bubble up from heat and the weight of furniture.
One of the most dangerous aspects of this place is that it is FLOODED with Fire ants! Not just the little ones either. 1- inch types that will send you or your furry family member to the hospital/vet. So, you need to stay off of the grass.
The first photo below is moments after you've been bit. The red streaks are venom. The blisters and skin eaten away are what happens afterwards.
So the peace and quiet that they advertise is non-existent and the management changes they say they are making are just as ghost-like as the rest of their advertised promises.
If your only brag is that you are a step above one of the 3 worst areas to live in Galveston, how good can you actually be?
If you sadly happen to find yourself living here, my condolences! You've been duped. This place is a huge regrettable pass! HUGE!

image I have lived at The Broadwater for over 8 years and I love it here. They are the best apartments in Galveston in my opinion. The maintenance crew is on top of every situation and all service requests are promptly resolved. Sometimes things go wrong but they always do their best for the residents. We do have new office managers and that always takes time to adjust for both the residents and management. I have had very little issues in these 8+ years. The grounds are kept in great condition and it is beautiful here. We love the pool/hot tub and the courtyard area. It's all good!

image We have lived here for years and the reason we stay is because of the excellent and friendly service from the office and maintenance staff! On those rare occasions when something goes wrong, maintenance is immediately all over it! Temo is the best!
