Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas Park Central

A few things in the room were broken (a lamp, floor tiles in the bathroom, dresser drawer) and we did find a cockroach in the bathroom the first day, but the beds were decently comfortable and the TV and A/C worked great. We did get locked out of the room several times due to the room key cards malfunctioning. Breakfast was good and the kids liked the pool.

The hotel is what you want it to be. A travel hotel for budget minded families. It does an adequate job of fulfilling all things to my family of a clean room, working bathroom, morning breakfast and affordable price. But it doesn't wow on any points. Rooms: Rooms were standard 2010 style rooms without update from large armoire and smaller desks. The TV was average and the cleanliness was on par. Not anything I would be crowing about. Walkability: There is a Red Lobster and Olive Garden near by but with the recent construction it is rather unsafe to walk to it. Be careful. This of course is not the hotels fault. Food & drinks: The corner market has nothing for less than five bucks and that includes a popcorn bag for your microwave. The breakfast is on par with other locations so that isn't winning bonus stars. Noteworthy details: Pool is warm at around 80 degrees. But the drains of the pool surround don't work so there was a large cold trough of water surrounding the pool making it super unsafe. If the drains were fixed it would be just fine.
