Parkland Eye Clinic

My sister was discharged from Parkland after a car crash resulting in traumatic brain injury that left her completely blind, never having received so much as an eye exam. The Ophthalmology team were supposed to see her 2 weeks after discharge. Because of issues with the long term acute hospital she was transfered to not allowing her to leave, we had to wait a few weeks longer to schedule her eye clinic appointment. Now the eye clinic wants her to wait another 2 months to be seen. Imagine being newly blind and having to wait FIVE months before you even get a basic eye exam. Where is the Compassion in your C.A.R.E.?

I waited less time for magic mountain on a weekend. The wait time is REDICULOUS. Why even have appointments? I waited 5 and half hours to be told to come back in 2 weeks!!! Absolutely ridiculous! What a waste of community money and space.

DOCTORS ARE GREAT !!!!!!! DONT GET THIS POST WRONG !!! BUT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE SAID ABOUT THIS THE WAIT TIME IS HORRIFIC 3 TIMES ALREADY WE HAVE BEEN UP THERE AND THE WAIT IS 4 TO 6 HOURS LONG !!!! SO JUST BE PREPARED HAVE PHONE CHARGED BRING SNACKS HEADPHONES OR A LONG LONG LONG BOOK EVEN a blanket and pillow at this point...

They actually have GREAT doctors BUT the wait times are extremely too long! My appointment was for 2:30 pm, I didnt leave out of there until 6:00 pm and mind you they close at 4:30 pm. They called me from the waiting room in the lobby, just to sit and wait in the waiting room in the back where there were people still waiting! Theres no way the wait should be that long. It seems like the over schedule and thats what causes the conflict! You ask them when will you be seen after waiting so long and the answer is I dont know. Youre better off going to the Emergency Room to request and optometrist or ophthalmologist. Just because people are on medicaid or alot of places dont take the insurance you have doesnt mean they should be treated that way and their plans be ruined because they choose to over schedule. If tou have an appointment here, dont make any plans that day because you wont make them. Parkland Eye Clinic will make sure of that! They dont sanitize the chairs in the eye examination rooms and I doubt they sanitize the ones in the waiting room.
