PenFed Credit Union

I was very surprised that they did not have a ATM inside or near the credit union but there was one across the street from PenFed/AAFES (Dallas,Tx Location) Although the teller was nice and pleasant she was unable to do a transfer of funds from my USAA to PenFed Credit Card Ive had PenFed when they were known as AAFES Credit Union Overall I will give the teller a 5 Star but 2 Star for convenience of banking needs

I was lied to about being able to change my payment date. When I first joined PenFed I requested to move my payment date to the 15th and was told this could be done after making my first payment. Well... I made my first payment, but now I am being told I have to make a couple more payments until I can get a skip payment to move it to the 15th. Sketchy Credit Union. I will be looking elsewhere.

Worst credit card company Ive dealt with. Ive been using it 2 months. They dropped my credit limit by more than half. I went from 30 percent usage to 100 percent usage overnight. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. Never use them. Intro apr is also a lie.

I have been with PenFed for over a decade and recently had one bad experience after another. My first thought of late when attempting what took less than 10 minutes at Chase and B of A, PenFed is an incompetent group of morons. I simply tried to add an external account to auto pay PenFed credit card payments. First I am told I can only have 2 external accounts and this can only addressed by phone should I wish to remove an account. Once removed, I then attempted to add the replacement second external account. After a week and several additional calls into their office I am now informed, even though their site indicates allowing manual micro deposit verification of external accounts, this is not the case. PenFed demands customers provide external passwords to some some third party vendor before they will link external accounts. I am not willing to provide external passwords to a vendor and this is certainly not required by major bank competitors. On my 4th+ attempt I am now told they can only add an external manual account if I delete all external accounts. However, to remove the current account involves some nonsense back office historic effort in which I must also provide photo identification etc. They verified my phone/dob, email address, SS. I never sent in a photo ID to open the account, so penfed wants even more documentation than it took to establish the account to simply update an external linked account. What a bizarre experience. The PenFed reward card now has both below market rewards and below market customer service. I have gone from recommending to fleeing PenFed. As follow-up, I responded to the email address provided in the below penfed response. As you would expect from the negative reviews, penfed did not reply.
