    I encountered service that was utterly unacceptable, accompanied by a policy that seems beneficial to the consumer only when it suits the company. My routine involves planning trips for work to cities like Dallas, typically with a few days' noticein this instance, precisely 72 hours. During the planning stage, I made a phone call to the company, expecting to leverage my Executive Elite status, as advised by their representative. I was reassured over the phone that a vehicle would be reserved for me, a key benefit supposedly guaranteed by my membership for reservations made with a 24-hour notice in the US and Canada.However, an unexpected twist arose with the announcement of a solar eclipse in Dallas. Unbeknownst to many, this astronomical event apparently activates a loophole in the company's policy, allowing National Car Rental to sidestep their obligation to honor the guaranteed vehicle reservation for Executive Elite members. This disappointing realization came to a head at the rental counter, not a moment before. There, I was bluntly informed that no car was available for mea fact communicated with a dismissive tone by a rental agent who flatly refused to escalate the issue to a supervisor. Her words, "I just spoke to some answering phones at the call center; they dont know whats going on," only added insult to injury. It became painfully clear that not only was there a profound misunderstanding of the commitment their employer had made to their most loyal customers, but there was also a glaring disregard for professional conduct. The agent seemed to view her role merely as a distributor of keys, overlooking the significant impact of failing to uphold a promise to those who frequent their service the most.

    My flight was delayed, and I arrived at 1:45 AM, so the car rental shuttle and National were shut down. I had a terrible experience. I ended up getting an Uber to my hotel - 30 minutes away. I went to bed around 4 AM. Then, I took another Uber back to the National Airport location to pick up my car at 7 AM. I was looking at canceling and picking up a rental car in my area, but the price doubled, so I kept my reservation at the DAL airport. When National was open for business, everything ran smoothly. There needs to be an exception for late arrivals at the DAL car rental shops. I hope the companies will consider late arrival services for their customers.

    For it's size, it's quite busy. There were 0 cars available and 3 customers in line when I first arrived. Took about 10 minutes for cars to be washed and available.
