This place is a complete waste of money. They take full advantage of being the only option south of Austin and add little to no value at all. I sincerely regret signing up for this membership out of principle. They consistently jack up the price and the facilities just seem to get worse. There is nothing about this place that represents an even decent golf club. If you are considering signing up, I would advise against it. Feel free to DM me if you want more insight

Once well-kept secret is now out ... crowds and prices are rising ... but natural beauty and old south charm largely remain.

I was a member for a few years. Joining OCC was not a good decision for many reasons. This club will nickel and dime you to death, period. My monthly dues went up just under $300 in less than two years. On one hand that is unacceptable but on the other hand I understand because the facilities are so deprecated, old and stale. Seems like the Grille is always closed due to some mechanical issues. I was out there one day when they had to evacuate due to a gas leak. They want $40 for a cart which is so absurd. Great to have 27 holes but when you have to start on number 10 of the north course you have to trek all the way out there, unless you are lucky to have a cart. If you have any questions about billing, good luck. Jody is listed as the contact person but she never answers her phone, ever. Sometimes I wonder if she even works there. The old grumps still own the tee sheet and have their system set up to get all of the early morning times. And it's not only the old grumps. You will most likely experience the 'frat vibe' out on the course. Last time I played it took over 5 hours because the group in front of us were pounding beers, no awareness of their surroundings and no respect for anyone else on the course. Typical behavior of a spoiled child and is typical of a country club so shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Also, so many times where I have been on the driving range and all the balls run out. In that case you have to call the pro shop and request more balls, not very country clubish if you ask me, really silly and cheesy. Really bad management overall, very dated facilities and an okay golf course that gets flooded frequently. Last I heard they are going to raise their initiation fee and monthly dues because they believe that their course is similar to other country clubs in the area, keep dreaming OCC. The only good thing about OCC is the head pro, Lonny is a great guy.

Dont join. Where do I even begin? Think this falls squarely into the you pay for what you get as its relatively affordable in terms of country clubs. I have thought about cancelling my membership probably 5+ times since joining but just feel stuck given I live close by and theres no alternatives (if there were, I would have 100% moved on by now). Theres a small group of golfers that get all the best tee times week over week and are prioritized by the club. You cant get a morning tee time on the weekend if your life depended on it even by logging on a few minutes before they go-live on multiple devices. If you love golfing in the blazing heat of the afternoon then this place is for you. The kitchen cant keep a cook for longer than 2-3 weeks so the menu, quality of food and staff are constantly rotating. One of the few highlights is the staff (golf staff is a solid group of guys, gym staff is lovely to chat with, and servers are very kind). Just read the comments from other people. I know members that refuse to eat/order anything outside of base dues because they feel taken advantage of and dont want to give Arcis anymore money. The only thing this place has going for it is thats its close to downtown and is semi-affordable in the country club world. If you moved this course another 30-45 minutes from downtown and it was run how its run, it would absolutely fail. Arcis takes advantage of you being locked in and it shows.
