The YMCA closes all the time. It makes me wonder why I pay full price for a place that closes so much. If its not closed then the pool is undergoing renovations or there are games going on in the gym so you cant play basketball. The only thing here usually always available when the facility is open is the weight room. For the most part the staff is friendly but there are some that make you question whether they actually want to be there. Its always clean and there are rarely equipment problems. This facilities main problem is availability. If I pay for a membership I expect it to be open and available. Unfortunately, I think this is the best gym in Athens.

The Athens Cain Center YMCA hosted a 2-day conference for our organization resulting in a positive and productive session for all in attendance. The atmosphere at the Cain Center is warm and inviting. Based on our experience we would highly recommend the Cain Center for all your meeting needs. A special thank you to Jeremy Bumgardner for his professionalism and coordination in facilitating our event. Working with Jeremy was a pleasurable experience in which he served as an exemplary host and always graciously accommodated our requests. His staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. We look forward to being a loyal customer and working with the Cain Center for all our future offsite meeting needs.

The YMCA closes all the time. It makes me wonder why I pay full price for a place that closes so much. Brendan, the YMCA is open 88.5 hours each week and yes, like most businesses we close on major holidays. Indoor pools are very complex and yes, lightning, a pump room or chemical issue can close the pool temporarily, once again, pretty typical with any pool. We proudly serve as the home court for Middle School & High School basketball and volleyball games for the ATBA, so yes, we do close our gym on occasion so that the local kids can participate in sports. Our staff do a great job and we're always working to ensure a clean facility. The Cain Center YMCA is the areas best full-service facility with an Indoor Pool, Fitness Center, Basketball Court, Pickleball, Yoga, Zumba, Personal Training, Restaurant, Childcare, Summer Day Camp, After School, Youth Sports, Silver Sneakers Classes, Water Aerobics, Facility Rentals for any occasion and soo much more in Athens, Texas.
