My Place Hotel-Amarillo, TX

Amarillo's hotel scene is pricey or run down. This place was neither. It was not only affordable, but it was more than what I had expected. Excellent amenities and a great place to stay! Rooms even come with a stove top! Perfect place for a quick or long stay. Rooms: They were excellent. It was great having a kitchenette!

Great staff! Very clean large rooms. Solid location. No seedy clientele. I stayed here for about a week and felt at home. My only knock is that a couple of the dryers need a tiny bit of maintenance as they don't dry well, but sure that'll be addressed ASAP. Rooms: My room was great but the overhead lights were a bit bright. Another lamp would have been great. Nearby activities: Tons of places nearby. Safety: Coming from Albuquerque, safety issues never crossed my mind.

NOPE. I drove into the parking lot and drove right out. Nothing about this place looked safe. Booked through Expedia and when I asked to refund, they told me the manager said I had checked in! My instincts were right; not only was it not safe but the MANAGER is a LIAR! The lying liars couldnt even prove to Expedia that I checked in! Avoid this motel. About the grounds: the cars in the lot were all dumpy looking, the sign is a TV screen with their phone number on it, its across the street from a Hooters, and the pictures they use on Expedia are not what you see when you pull in to the property. UPDATE: To whoever responded from the hotel: Would love an explanation of why Expedia was told by a manager that I checked in, when in reality I never got out of my car. At first, Expedia denied refunding the money based on expectation verse reality. When they called the property, they were told by the manager I checked in. Why did the hotel say this if it isnt true? I saw the grounds, sign, and vicinity; then turned around and immediately went to a Hilton. Apparently my instincts were correct. Posting a reply without addressing the reason for the bad review, doesnt solve issues it ignores them! I have a feeling half the reviews are fake, especially after finding out the staff lies.
