This is an updated review due to changes that have happened since the first visit. This is my true experience and mine alone. Your experience may vary. I called 1 Tom plumber for a valve replacement to the line that feeds my fridge. They stated that it was a $79 truck roll but it would be waived if I they did the work. Jordan came out and assessed the situation and gave me a $280 quote. He said that if he doesn't have a part and he had to go get it that it would be an additional $130 for the truck roll to get the part, which was never stated during my initial phone call. According to the company they would supply all the necessary parts. Jordan did a great job. I also inquired about a possible water filter bypass line so I can have continuous hot water when ever I decided to change the cartridge in my filter. He said he would have to break into the wall because of the tight space. I would also have to get a sheet rock company when he was done to repair the hole in the wall that they would leave which is understandable because they are a plumbing company not a sheet rock company. I said I would think about it. He also checked my water pressure from the city which was high and recommended a water pressure regulator. He gave me an on the spot estimate of $1500 in which I also said I would think about it. The next day, I found another small issue that needed to be done and called the company back to give them the work. Since Jordan was there the day before and had already seen the area in question, I submitted pictures to the company and they said they would reach out to Jordan and he would call back with an estimate. That was the last I've heard from the company which was two days ago. Since I did not hear back from them, I found another company which came out to do the small job. While they were there, I inquired about the filter bypass and the water pressure regulator. They said all three jobs total would be $505 so I said yes and had them do the jobs. Btw, This company did not even have to break the wall which saved me the additional expense of a sheet rock company. Additionally, I also asked 1 Tom Plumber for an itemized invoice so I can have the part number on there in case it failed and caused damage. This way I could submit the receipt with the part number to the insurance company for a smoother claim, and then the insurance company can go after the manufacturer of the part. They stated that they could not do that, however, they were able to give me the part numbers directly to me. Upon research, I noticed that the total amount for the parts were about $15 which means the balance of the $280 charge was $265 Which meant that IF he stayed 2 hours, which he didnt, their hourly rate was over $130 per hour. I am only using 2 hours as a reference. I believe he was actually there for 1.5 hours which makes their rates even higher. I do understand that gas and other items are factored in the price. However, the total price I would be paying for just the two jobs, ($1500 + 280) would be $1780 and thats without the bypass line and the ORIGINAL small job I called back for, which they have never responded to. So with that being said, and taking everything that has happened in account, that is the reason why I gave them the new rating and supplied the details regarding the reasons why as well as feeling slighted and forgotten....
