image I scheduled an appointment. X-rays were recommended, and I was told I would be called with results the next day. After receiving no results, I called and left a message. I received no call back. Again, I called the next day, to be given a very unsure result, and the recommendation sounded more like a question. I was looking for a Dr, but this is not a professional office.

image She is a very nice doctor but she never took my concerns seriously. My daughter suffered from severe constipation and became severely under weight. Dr. Gilbert did not prescribe or run any tests when I repeatedly called and showed up at her office with the same concerns. I was a first time mother and trusted her doctor. I truly believe this resulted in my daughter's picky eating and I still have to take her to feeding therapy years later.

image For the first few years of my daughter's life, her primary care physician, Dr Felisa Gilbert, was fantastic. She was attentive, caring, and always took the time to listen to our concerns. However, over the past year or so, something has changed. The doctor no longer seems to care about my daughter's health or well-being. She dismisses our problems and concerns, and often suggests that we see other doctors instead. It's as if she has completely lost interest in her patients and is no longer concerned with providing quality care.
Not only is the doctor lacking in care and concern, but the front desk staff at this medical practice are also extremely rude and slow. Every time we visit, we are met with attitudes and poor service from the staff. It has become a frustrating and unpleasant experience to receive medical care at this practice.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the change in care and service that we have received from this primary care physician and her practice. It is clear that they are no longer interested in providing quality care and are more concerned with getting patients in and out as quickly as possible. I am now in the process of finding a new primary care physician who will be more attentive and concerned about my daughter's health, and who has a friendly and efficient staff.

image I have been taking my mom to Dr. Gilbert for several years now. My mom's former Dr of 40yrs was retiring. I selected Dr Gilbert because of a family recommendation. So at first I was really impressed by her knowledge and what seemed to be compassion for her patients. However this year I'm finding myself unhappy with her. My mom suffered a heart attack in June due to abnormally low oxygen levels that we were unaware of. She spent a week in the hospital and now has a cardiologist. At our follow up with cardio the Dr was very concerned about mom's iron level. It was explained this was not an iron deficiency from diet. He inquired if mom had ever had a colonoscopy and to follow up with her pcp because this was very concerning. We saw dr. Gilbert as directed explained everything along with the fact that mom has found blood in her underwear on 2 different occasions and she ordered more labs stating it could be another vitamin deficiency or something else causing this anemia. So shortly thereafter we received a call from the nurse at her office stating all labs were normal and to eat iron rich foods. Hello???? What happened to our last visit and info where cardiologist stated it wasn't due to diet?! I had to ask if we could be referred to hematology. Sorry that part was necessary to help you understand where we are today. So mom doesn't see the hematologist until mid Sept. Meanwhile she undergoes a knee replacement. It had some post op complications with healing so we have had seen orthopedic 4 times in 2 weeks. This week he ordered labs just to make sure there was no infection. That part of labs were fine however iron value came back critically low and while in office today he had just gotten results he said mom needed to be admitted to receive blood. That he couldn't admit her because it wasn't wound related to call pcp. Now I did that. This along with the recent event is why I'm upset. For whatever reason it takes 2hrs for labs to be faxed to her office. Then with lab values and office visit from Monday from TOA in hand I'm told by nurse that Dr. Gilbert can't do "3rd party admission" that she would need to see my mom. At that point I offer to bring her in. Nope! She wants us to go to the ER. I wanted Stonecrest but was told if we went to Murfreesboro instead she would call and talk to ER Dr to try to assist for a direct admit. I asked what about covid???? What about her open wound??? I was told the exposure risk was low in ER for vivid and basically "well that's your only option"
SO HERE WE ARE..... Hours later. My mom is 72 had multiple back surgeries I mean got the rods and screws all down the spine. Has an open surgical wound of the knee and she is crying from sitting in this wheel chair for hours!! Triage nurse laughed when we said our Dr called ahead to help get process started so she could get the blood she needs. He said "yeah they all say that but once they get you off the phone those Drs don't call the ER" they have no info on her and the nurse went and checked with staff in the back and we were told nobody received her info or a call from her Dr. So of course they said they will do their own labs and she will have to wait to be seen along with the other 30 ppl in front of her! It's sad that these days it's all about protocol. Why do so many patients need a health care advocate??? What happens to those who don't have one? They die! Now every 5-10 mins my mom is asking to go home she is in so much pain. She really doesn't care if she dies because she is tired and hurting. But let it be a physician's parent/family member protocols are not so important! A physician should do for his/her patients what is right and what he/she would want done for their own family!
