        Edit: The store owner did reach out to me this morning to discuss the shipping charges and explain to me a long clause in the email that essentially says the $112 charge is an estimate, not a charge. It's still misleading in my opinion, but it's there. I take responsibility for not reading it fully. He did his best to make things right and explain to me what happened and will be refunding an overcharge that happened in some of the shipment details. I appreciate that. $112 (estimate) to ship an item I can mail UPS prepaid label for $30-$40 Even after working with me on printing my own label and putting the 24"x24"-4lb-completely flat sign in a flat box (They originally selected a box 32"L x 25"W 7"THICK box) the print your own label fees and shipping charges still came out to be $40.56 +the cost of the label I sent. (Some of this cost is now being refunded to me) The package also sat around for close to two weeks after the auction company dropped it off. So here's what a $40.56 shipping job looks like + a prepaid $30 label. No wrapping of the sign at all inside the box, cheap clear tape that was broken in more than a few spots and could have easily completely fallen apart, and a box that was still 8" too wide and 7" too tall. If you're going to charge a premium for shipping a small item like mine, I expect gold leaf to be on the heavy-duty packing tape you use. Thanks to the few employees who did genuinely try to get me help and lower the cost. I appreciate your help.

        Tried to drop off a package, There were customers inside the store, and the door was unlocked, but they refused to take my return package, when all they had to do was scan my QR code and take the package.

      Thanks for allowing us to reach out regarding the concerns Scott! As noted during our call, we included all of the information about our auction shipments in the initial email sent. We have to include all the details so that it is clear how our process works. As we ship thousands of auction shipments each year, we are very careful with ensuring that we provide up front estimates to avoid delays while the actual shipping costs are charged once approval has been provided (which will not exceed the initial estimate). In this case, you opted to use your own label and requested a flat pack service which was provided. The flat pack is not how we would have packed the item under any other condition as we always pack to the proper UPS packaging guideline but we made an exception at your request. As your item was one of the last to be approved in several hundred auction lots, it was put in the order of approval and flat packed in the proper order. This was also noted in the initial email as is standard process for all auction shipments. We do not set the shipping charges as they are set by UPS corporate for all UPS stores locations.       Hi Tami!Thank you for taking the time to speak with me. As noted during our call, our store had closed at 3PM as noted on our hours sign as well as on our online listings. The door was still unlocked as other customers were still being helped that had arrived prior to closing (in fact they were being helped until nearly 20 minutes past closing). We don’t lock the store while customers are in the store for safety of everyone - the door is actual automated by time and motion. Given there was motion from the existing customers just inside the door, the door was unlocked. This was verified via review of the security cameras and even though our staff tried to explain that they were closed, you became quite upset. As members of the community and a locally owned small business we strive to provide world class customer service. We always help everyone that’s inside the store before closing but we have to be fair to our staff who want to get home to their families.I hope that you will reconsider your 1 star review given the situation.All the best,The UPS Store 7133 Leadership Team
