      image Customer service was certainly lacking. I had been approved for the Lowes credit card and part of that involved a 20% off coupon that you could use at checkout. Additionally, Lowes states that they match prices of other competitors, including Amazon. Amazon had the item for $20 less and I asked the person at the register to price match it and he told me he did not know what price matching was. He was then unable to get my 20% coupon to take affect. He had to call the store manager who did indeed price match the item and gave me the 20% coupon which I was supposed to get. The problem with all of this is that I got a bit of a lecture from the assistant store manager about how he was going to get in trouble for doing the things he did and that I stole the item from the store. In other words, because I was a savvy shopper, I basically stole the item from them. All I was doing is using their own policies to get the lowest possible price. I wouldve given them one star for customer service but at the end of the day I got the price I shouldve. I dont think it was good customer service to give the customer a lecture basically telling them it was not fair to the store that they get an item for this low of a price and that the employee would get in trouble for doing what he did. Either standby your policies or change them. I would also better educate your cashiers. They should know what price matching means.
