Pretty desolate area. Started the TripAdvisor walking tour here. Thats the only reason we saw the park. Omar Handys house is nearby.

More awesome history! There is an awesome statue of Ida B. Wells (an amazing civil rights activist who was so brave) portraying her with hands on her hips because she was stubborn for justice and not easily scared away!! There is also the First Baptist Beale Street Church (the bricks of the church were hand made by the enslaved back in the day. The craftsmanship is beautiful)! Another great place to make a quick stop, take some pictures, and soak in history.
