The Victorian District of Memphis is small, but in my opinion one of the best sights this amazing city has to offer. After an interesting introduction, we toured most parts of this stunning building on our own. Street parking is available, just next door is Mallory Neely House - both houses are definitely worth a visit. Plan about 1 hour for each house.

Poor hours and not the best maintenance on outside buildings. My friend and I came by here after she recommended. I got tickets online then showed up to attendit was closed despite online hours saying otherwise. My friend and I came a second time then they were closed again without heads-up. Shows theyre open on Maps and by their hours. Outside Handwerker house is not maintained anymore it seems. Used as storage shed. I would rate higher, but Ive never been able to enter due to issues with listed hours. All of this just seems like poor care for a historic place.
