Econo Lodge Inn & Suites on the River

We stay here frequently when our resort is full. It is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff is fantastic.

This would be a five star review if it wasnt for the very hard mattresses. This hotel is overlooking a beautiful river and mountain scape. Your balcony is right on the water and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of a rushing River and the view of a big giant mountain. I felt like a little German mountain girl. You can stand out on the balcony and look at the pretty river, mountains and even watch the lift that brings people up the mountain. The rooms are very clean and they had chocolate muffins and juice. You are within walking distance of Gatlinburg. The only issue is the mattresses are very very very firm. The mattresses are so hard that it took us about an hour to fall asleep, despite being exhausted from the 12 hour drive there. And when I woke up, my body hurt. I sort of went into staying here knowing that the mattress would be very hard, because weve stayed at plenty of choice hotels before and all Choice hotel mattresses are very hard. Choice hotels, PLEASE invest in some softer plusher mattresses! The only other issue was the water pressure in the shower was very low water pressure. Im not usually particular about that but the pressure was really low. Anyway, this is a lovely hotel to stay at if you can get one of the lower-priced nights, but be aware the mattresses are very firm.

When I stay here the bed was clean but the couch bed was super nasty. I didnt need it but when opening it, the smell of pee quickly came up and we closed it back up and didnt want to even set on the couch. The rest of the room was cool and I will give this location another try

We were rebooked to this motel without any information. Older lady at reception was very nice. Unfortunately the room is very shabby. Extremely noisy. Breakfast very bad. Cold coffee, very very small selection. Is in the same small room as check in. Employee sits unmotivated at reception and plays loudly with his cell phone.
