SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charleston North/Ashley Phosphate

We booked this hotel because of the indoor pool only to arrive and find out the pool is closed. No info about it being closed online. My room appeared nice until further inspection. The bathroom door could not be closed or you would get stuck in there. The toilet kept running until about 10PM, when it stopped working completely. The phone in the room did not work so we had to walk down to the lobby for each issue (and when we had to use the bathroom). They said they had no other rooms available. We paid $181 for a Marriott quality hotel and were completely ripped off. My husband spoke to the manager, Laquana, for a partial refund. Still haven't received one. Never experienced anything like this before. Terrible!

My room didnt have a privacy latch, and the room had nothing in it I could easily prop against the door except for lugging the large sofa in front of it. I discussed with the front desk. Im not sure why they are selling this room rather than fixing the problem - the rooms unusable. Since the hotel was sold out and they had no other properties to send me to, I had to stay my trip in this unsafe room. Safety: Room had privacy latch removed from the door
