I am currently renting the house Im in and have been in it since July 2021. We are the third family in it since it was completed in early 2019. I initially was considering eventually buying this house from my landlord in a few more years. Set up a potential timeline for it with the homeowner and everything. After being here for a little over 2 1/2 years, it has turned into a no thank you. The house is cheaply built and sitting on filled in brackish swampland. The yard becomes a marsh every time it rains. The driveway has begun to chip off in several spots over the last year. Every and any chair or grill leaves rust marks on the concrete of the back patio. Because the water flows over from the grass causing water to sit in that area and corrode the frames/legs of anything we keep out there. Theres a siding/runner piece between the bottom of our back sliding door and the concrete that fell off several months before we moved in. The siding on the front of the house is already warped from the sun. The master bedroom door doesnt latch. Theres also gaps underneath the carpeting in that bedroom. And a hollow space under the flooring right outside that door. The flooring throughout the main areas of the house is beyond cheap. If you look at it wrong, you might mark or scratch it. Multiple moldings have fallen off the tops of the kitchens cabinets and have been repaired. Really poor electrical work. The pantry light doesnt go out when you close the door anymore. So now we just dont keep a bulb in there. That happened around the end of 2022. The garage wiring had to be repaired when we were moving in. The wiring in the house is weak and has tripped breakers if too many things are plugged in around any section of the house. Had an outlet trip in my garage this summer without me knowing it for a few days. So I lost several hundred dollars worth of food that had been in my deep freezer. Bulbs flicker randomly in practically every light fixture in the house. Weve already had to replace several bulbs that shouldnt have needed to be done yet. Repairs had to be made to the HVAC system during the summer of 2022. Around that same time, the (cheap, hard plastic they chose to use) line running from the toilet tank to the wall in the smaller bathroom randomly burst and began flooding the floor in there. Fortunately I was home and able to turn the water off before any damage was done to that area of my house. I have neighbors down the street who were not as fortunate and sustained thousands of dollars worth of damage to their home because of it. So both toilet lines had to get replaced after that. And this was all shortly after having to put new flappers in both toilets that May & June. And of course paying extra on my water bill those couple of months. We get drain gnats from our master shower. Which either means shotty plumbing/leakage causing water to pool under the house somewhere. Or because yall BUILT IT ON A DANG SWAMP. The house is 5 years old and in worse shape than houses built 15+ years ago. This may as well be a D.R. Horton or Lennar house. EDITED to add photos of where walls are literally splitting/creasing all over the house from such poor work during the build.

Poor fit and finish. Uneven floors. Large gaps between 1/4 round and flooring. Doors that don't shut properly. Doors that stick. 1/2 inch gap between counter top and wall that was filled in with caulk. Grout was placed between tile and shower is now breaking off. I paid to have an inspection for the 12 month warranty. Then was told they would not look at the report. That I needed to write it all down. Majority of things I listed were not even addressed. We don't even have a neighborhood sign at the entrance to the neighborhood. Was told that the road leading to the adjoining neighborhood was for emergency vehicles. That was not true people cut through the neighborhood all the time speeding. My Ameribuilt home My home was built 2 years ago. Problems I have had since it was built. 3 interior doors will not latch. I have replaced 9 LED bulbs so far. Kitchen Faucet is broke and I cant get parts to repair. It. Master bathroom flooded because the seal was never installed under the shower. Grout is cracking around a tile that was not installed level. Master bath tile doesnt go under quarter round. Living area is about 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. Not enough vents/ insulation. Cracking and chipping concrete. Engineered hardwood is actual a wood veneer over particle board. Cabinet doors/ knobs misaligned. Front yard is about as smooth as a corn field. Carpet is thin and cheap cant step on the threshold without getting stabbed in the foot by spike strip. Grout in front of bathtub and shower cracked and came loose before the house was a year old. Sliding glass door is so hard to open that the handle has broken off once already. Windows are hard to lock. Shingles blew off garage over hang during a 40 mph wind gust Insulation keeps coming out of vent in closet and getting on the clothes. Tape is coming loose from joints in the ceiling. Kitchen sink started leaking from between sink and countertop.
