Hammetts Hotel

Location, location. Location. Over priced, small rooms, no amenities, can hear people above, in the hallway, and next to you. Most of the rooms don't have much of a view. Nice staff though. Rooms: Small and cramped.

We almost stayed in Jamestown, so glad we didnt! Newport is where its at! Hammetts is absolutely gorgeous. The lobby, the rooms, the views, the staff, etc. From top to bottom, 5-star service. Im shocked this has a lower rating. People are way too picky. Its a block from everything. Great hotel and incredible staff.

It was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. No amenities offered but the place was nice. Rooms: Modern but small.

Stunning location right in the heart of Newport. Our suite had an incredible view of the city and the Newport Bridge. Beds were very comfortable for our weekend stay. Staff at the front desk and valet were all friendly and accommodating. Will stay again!

Upside: Super trendy hotel. Designed in the theme of Soho House, London. Location. Downside: Upon check in you are asked to provide a credit card for amenities. Apart from the valet car services, there are no amenities. When I questioned this the explanation I was given is that the hotel management ask for a $50.00 hotel room damage cover. Hotel room: comfortable beds. No coffee or kettle facilities in the hotel room. No fridge. No safe. No microwave. Bathroom sink is in the bedroom and not the bathroom (you have a pee and you have to touch a ton of knobs to finally wash your hands). There is no closet space for clothes. Building noise: oh my goodness. The noise is unrelenting. The building fan oscillates in tempo across the night and is intolerable. I had to plug my ears with cotton wool to sleep. This hotel, whilst being super trendy is not considerate of the many different types of guests/business clients considering this property as a destination break. I ventured down to complain and got my head bitten off by someone who tried to tell me why I was complaining.
