Honestly, I try to avoid this post office location at all costs, but because it's so conveniently located for me, it's often my only option. The location itself is good enough, but the staff here, or one staff in particular, is so unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful, that it casts a negative light on the whole branch. Like many Philadelphia offices, it's also chronically understaffed, and regularly needs to close for staff lunch-breaks. I write this review after having used this post office location for more than two years, having had multiple interactions with this particular staff member, who seems to be one of only three employees I have ever seen working here, and the most consistent. My questions are often met with short, unhelpful single word responses, and this employee moves at one speed, no matter if I'm the only customer in the location, or the line is to the door (which is often the case). On one occasion I was attempted to mail a package that exceeded the weight limit for the shipping method I wanted to use. I was told bluntly "it's too heavy," and when I asked for clarification I was told again, "it's too heavy." Upon asking a third time, this time specifying that I needed to know the maximum weight, I was rudely given the answer (I don't recall the exact amount) and walked back to my office, repackaged, and returned to the location. Upon weighing the item again, I was told "it's still too heavy," and after a similar back-and-forth, it turned out that they originally gave me the incorrect weight, and I needed to return to my office again to repackage. Upon returning to the post office a third time, I received no apology, no acknowledgement of any sort, and was met with the same dull, rude, demeanor. On a second occasion I placed my packaged on the scale and asked to ship it. After staring at the package for a beat, the response I was given was "I can't ship this package with this tape on it." I asked for clarification (I used masking tape) and the employee simply stated "it's hazardous." I asked again, for clarification, so I could understand why the tape wasn't allowed and their response was "I already told you why." That's when I walked away. I ship many, many packages for work, and I have never had as many consistently negative interactions at any other branch than I do at this location. If you must use this post office, it will get the job done if you know what you're doing, but beware of asking questions at this location, as I have only been met with apathy, rudeness, and incorrect/unhelpful information.

Refused to serve me buying money order, but clearly they just sold it to other lady right in front of me. What a sick joke usps. Is there any certain cut out time for money order? Two usps locations (the other one on the 316 Market St.) refused to serve me money order today so far.
