This place is ok... There is a very small amount of history displayed. Most of the work is from a single great artist. It is about 10 minutes worth of actual historical artifacts

I was extremely disappointed in this museum. There were 3 adults visiting for the first time. I anticipated more from the time period that was on exhibit. There were no artifacts, clothings, signs. There was an art exhibit on level 3 that was interesting. The video recreation of people from that time period was ok but seemed better suited for the young. If one has attention deficit and this area was crowded, imagine 10 people talking loud in a semi circular room that would be red unsettling. It did not compare in the least bit like Harriet Tubman in Macon Georgia.

Living in a thriving city filled with museums? It's almost a crime to not explore one for an exciting adventure! Recently, I visited the African American Museum in Philadelphia and had an amazing experience. The exhibit, "Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America," offered a fresh perspective directly from the artist's viewpoint. The diverse mix of art styles in the exhibit was truly captivating and appealed to all visitors. You could freely wander, absorb the atmosphere, and enjoy yourself to the fullest. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, radiating positivity, while the gift shop was a delightful treasure trove. If you're looking for a great time, this place is a definite must-see!
