        The Centennial Arboretum, a 27-acre oasis, is located at the Horticulture Center within Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. Its a place of natural beauty and historical significance, open daily to the public without charge. The arboretum boasts a rich collection of specimen trees and shrubs from Asia, Europe, and North America, many of which were planted back in 1876 for the American Centennial Exposition. Notably, the arboretum is also home to the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden, a traditional-style Japanese house brought to Philadelphia in 1957, and it serves as the location for the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia, a celebration of spring and Japanese culture.
