Hands down the best place to go if visiting the philadelphia area. The place is such a charming bed and breakfast with amazing landscaping and decor. The husband and wife who run it, Roland and An add such a personal touch to your stay that makes you feel like family. Not to mention the breakfast is stellar! Restaurant quality and kicks the snot out of normal hotels breakfast. If you're looking for a nice quiet place to stay while visiting the area, do not hesitate to stay here.

We have stayed at Alpenhof several times while visiting family in the area and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves each time. The bed & breakfasts decor is stunningly beautiful and unique. Guest rooms are spotless, comfortable and provide all necessities. Breakfasts include several options and are really special.The gardens are lovely, especially as spring flowers were coming into bloom. Most importantly , Roland and Anh, our hosts, are so gracious and attentive to their guests. Staying there is a delightful experience, one we hope to have again soon.

The Rock Garden cottage was a perfect spot for our needs. The beds were very comfortable. Every accommodation needed for a comfortable stay was available to us. The grounds are beautiful and the homemade breakfast was delicious. Thank you!

I enjoyed my stay at Alpenhof B & B. Otto's room and bed were comfortable and Anh and Roland offer a fresh and generous breakfast. The grounds are beautiful and were especially so with the vast number of Daffodils and other bulb flowers in glorious bloom. Thank you for your contribution to my Media, West Chester and Wilmington Exploration Adventure.

My wife & I have stayed at the Alpenhof several times in recent years and have always had an excellent experience. The location is a perfect one for personal nostalgia, as I grew up in a neighborhood just up the hill and spent many hours wandering in nearby Ridley Creek State Park. The rooms are comfortable & clean, the grounds are lovely, and hosts Roland & Anh are welcoming and always serve a sumptuous, made-to-order breakfast.
Rooms: The rooms are not large, but they are cozy & nicely decorated. The beds are comfortable, there is a TV & small refrigerator, and the bathrooms are clean with a nice shower.
Nearby activities: Lots of opportunities for nature hikes in the state park and adjacent Tyler Arboretum. Just a short drive into Media affords shopping & dining at stores & restaurants on and around State Street.
Walkability: Winding Ridley Creek Rd can be a bit treacherous because people drive too fast, but with a little caution it is easy to walk to Ridley Creek State Park or into the very pleasant Timberwyck neighborhood.
Food & drinks: Breakfast is wonderful & filling. Fresh-baked sweet rolls, healthy bread choices, delicious fresh fruit cup, then eggs, pancakes & sides cooked to order, with good coffee & juice.
Noteworthy details: The B&B is a nicely refurbished old stone barn, with many interesting nick-knacks & pieces of art work.
