Chocolate Express Hotel & Suites Hummelstown/Hershey

Had a booking online which said fully refundable/ cancelable. Well once I read the bad google reviews i decided to cancel. When I cancelled they still charged me anyway and refused to refund my money. Terrible customer service.

HOTEL looks PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Looked this way for the past couple of weeks. DO NOT BOOK HERE! Not one single car in their parking lot. Building is totally dark.

We arrived about an hour and a half after Check-in and we were only the third car in the parking lot. We were told there would not be breakfast provided because there weren't enough guests. We were surprised to learn our room was to be a jacuzzi room as we did not book a room with a jacuzzi. We turned the sheets down to find mass amounts of hair in the sheets. We went to the desk and the attendant himself came with new sheets. He unfurled the new sheets to be a set with more hair. He did promptly crumpled it up and throw it on the floor and went to get new sheets a second time. We opened drawers to find bug poop and parts. The room had a jacuzzi with a pull out sofa butted up against it with the bed butted up against the pull out couch. There were two armchairs in the room stained with no one wants to know what, I'm sure. The window blind had chunky stains on it. The toilet had radioactive-looking pink cleaner in it. There were no shampoo soap lotion conditioner items in the bathroom. There was a soap dispenser mounted in the shower with a crusted over reservoir of ?Soap? And there was a soap dispenser by the sink with neon pink soap. There were two mini fridges in the room, if that's any consolation. And there's a vacuum cleaner in the hall. Next morning coming out of the bathroom there's a cockroach on the wall adjacent. They're is no alarm clock in the room. The outlets do not hold plugs well. The iron is missing a chunk of it's plastic body. But there was a full sized ironing board. The vent on the back of the provided hair dryer is completely clogged with lint and fuzz. The curtains have visible chunky dust on them. Staying a second night, a small breakfast was set out as an event had happened in the evening before and more guests arrived. You cannot hear everything through the walls but you could hear other guests had dogs in the hotel and could hear barking. You could hear anyone from the floor above you walking around. And you could vaguely hear sounds and noises through the walls. Nearby activities: There is a King Cone Creamery ice cream store directly across the street. AACA Car Museum is 0.2 miles away. Hershey's Chocolate World (store and tour-free to attend) is about 1.5 miles away. Hershey Park (amusement park -not free) is also about 1.5 miles away. There are at least two wineries in the immediate area. At Christmas time there is a Hershey's Sweet Lights Christmas light display (not associated with Hershey Park.) And Giant Stadium is about a mile away. Downtown Hershey is close by and has many things to do in places to eat. Also check out the restaurant Smoked; owner is cool, waiter Nick was awesome. Walkability: The roads are busy and I don't recommend walking. Food & drinks: There are many places to eat and drink in downtown Hershey and in Hershey Park. Smoked is a good barbecue place. The owner is cool and waiter Nick was awesome. We had a Pork Philly, the Chicken Bacon Bourbon sandwich, fries, sweet tea and a Chipotle Blackberry Margarita. Everything was delicious. We were told First Watch and Rising Sun were good breakfast places. (Didn't go to these). King Cone Creamery is directly across the street. Noteworthy details: There are two hotels, one on each side of this one, I might recommend more than this hotel. I would give less stars for Chocolate Express Hotel if it was possible.

Reviewing based on the ability of the owner to spell correctly and use correct grammar. If they run the hotel like they answer reviews, I wouldn't book here! Man, when more than 1-2 people post about bugs, makes me think.
