I started taking my daughter to St James Preschool since Mommy and Me and now this is her last year before kindergarten. So many great memories we will be leaving with us. The teachers are amazing, they really do look at each of the kids as their own. The school is well organized and safe. Everyone that works there is easy to talk to and very caring.

We LOVE St. James!! I could not have imagined a better preschool experience for my 2 children! From beginning Toddler Talk at 18 months to graduating Pre-K at 5, my son and daughter both LOVED attending St. James Preschool! They were always excited to talk about what they had learned, and share stories of their experiences. The kindness, caring, and flexibility of the teachers and staff is paralleled by their creativity, passion, and dedication. The school provides clean, safe, well-equipped facilities where the focus is on learning through play. My children graduated Pre-K with a firm grasp of the fundamentals, invaluable social skills, healthy self-confidence, and an eagerness to learn. They have so many cherished memories of their time at St. James, as do I. They were no excited to leave; however, they were well-prepared for kindergarten and are now both thriving in elementary school Thank you, St. James Preschool!!

It is hard to overstate how wonderful St. James Preschool was for both of my children. They attended beginning with Toddler Talk at the age of 2 and continuing all the way through pre-k. St. James offers a great early learning environment with caring, dedicated teachers who do so much to encourage and facilitate age-appropriate social and emotional development. I always felt that my kids were happy, healthy, safe, and LOVED there. All of their teachers were amazing educators and nurturers who truly made my kids' wellbeing their top priority. I don't think it's a coincidence that my kids graduated from St. James kindergarten-ready and that they continue to thrive in grade school. That foundation was carefully and caringly crafted, in no small part by their excellent teachers at St. James during those formative pre-school years. In short, if I had to do it all over again, I would send my children to St. James in a heartbeat. And I would heartily recommend it to prospective parents, as well. They'll treat your kids just like their own, and you (and they) will be doing everything possible to ensure a bright start to their school-age years.

This school does not understand child development. If you have a regular obedient child, you might be fine here. If your child has any issues whatsoever likely will have a difficult time. My child is very active, likely hyperactive with sensory issues. He is a runner, jumper, spinner kid. He went to school here at 3. The first week, the teacher sent me an email of my sons issues, all of which i knew about- not sitting at circle time, difficulty with transitions from preferred to non preferred activity, running around a lot and not wanting to engage a lot in the classroom and suggesting he was throwing sand . I immediately contacted her and she asked me to come in to discuss after class which I did. She asked about strategies we use which i did have strategies as I am well aware of his issues and I am an OT as well. All of the strategies were downplayed with statements such as well we are waiting on the CCIU to come out. They should have some strategies (Again I am an OT). Already first week suggesting maybe he needs a 1:1. Granted my child is high energy but certainly did not need 1:1 given appropriate strategies. Third week - my child picked up a stick in the playground and took it to another student. He was taken off then playground and later that week I was notified by one of the administrators that he could not go back on the playground until the IU came out. My mom had to go pick him up 45 minutes early everyday and the teacher would often be taking the kids out to the playground in front of my child and he was upset he could not go with his friends. Also there were supposed to be set times the classses were in the playground and there might be 1 other class out there BUT the teacher did not adhere to the scheduled time and often times there were at least 4 classes out at the same time. On the last time my son was allowed out on the playground I came early to watch him from afar to see what her was doing. I did notice the teachers all standing around talking, not having a careful eye on the kids. So my child was needlessly punished and not allowed on the playground. My mom volunteered to come everyday and stay with him at the playground and I offered that to one of the administrators. Her response? No that would be a reward for him? A reward??!! Absolutely not. During our time there, I received absolutely no communication from the teacher unless I emailed her. They sent weekly pictures like 100 which looked like everyone was so happy. I did also receive another call from the administrator during our time asking about the IU coming and suggesting maybe my son wasnt ready for preschool. My sons teacher only had a spanish degree and a certificate in education which i did not know prior to enrolling my son. My son was only enrolled from September to November at which time I took him out due to all the issues there. I found another school nearby which has been wonderful and he has had 0 issues!! Why? Because his new school uses strategies and understands child development. This on the surface appears like a cute small preschool dont believe all the reviews. This place was a nightmare for my son and my family.
