Its comparable to a ghost kitchen. Valid address, but if you go there, no one to help you.

Ive worked through a number of agencies in the metro area. From my perspective, the quality has declined since 2020 (on varying notes). Understanding individual experience doesnt set a universal premise, I find value in reviews that provide insight or elaborate on both pros and cons (positives and negatives) as opposed to more polarized reviews. An extremely negative review could indicate a specific, particular issue or isolated occurrence. With that being said, recruiters and job seekers have faced unique or interesting challenges while navigating Portland's shifting landscape and job market. Priorities or expectations between recruiter and job seeker (or agency and client) may not always fully align yet most are concerned with checking boxes, filtering potential red flags, and facilitating meetings based on a set criteria. I recognize this often requires heightened -- an increased due diligence throughout the screening process, which is understandable as of late. Especially when/if prior experiences with job seekers have reflected negatively upon the recruiter themselves or the agency as a whole. Needless to say, recruiting benefits from prior customer service experience, or a customer service mentality, with accompanying interpersonal skills (and patience). It feels like some are more concerned with a sales and marketing approach while meeting quotas. Anyway, the reason for my negative review is based on a rather unpleasant experience (lacking customer service) with one of their recruiters. Initially, it was an average; civil experience (nothing abnormal or disconcerting) yet changed course once I expressed particular concerns or a potential boundary - due to my social anxiety and introversion - quickly becoming rude, inconsiderate, dismissive / invalidating. I found the apparent lack of empathy / sympathy or consideration (understanding patience is a virtue) towards the workforce - and the challenges to overcome - to be its own potential red flag. Frankly, Im not interested in entertaining/humoring such behavior even if a rare occurrence or an isolated instance. Especially if it doesnt appear warranted when it could have been a different experience / scenario. Honestly, I've often had better results or experiences convening directly with prospective employers themselves than the hurdles agencies provide as of late (opting to forgo the aforementioned experience with recruiters).
