We kept our beautiful old windows while reducing our AC use by a third! Which is a lot in our hot Louisville summers! They are also easier to handle than heavy storm windows.

This company is very attentive during the sales process but zero contact since the product was delivered. The acoustic inserts were simple to install but unfortunately do not make much difference in lessening road noise in the house. Given the price of these inserts, some follow-up would be appreciated.

Cant say enough good things about our Indow inserts. My partner and I bought a beautiful Mid Century home in Tucson with original 1958 single pane windows. The first couple of brutally hot months were rough, and even with our AC running we found ourselves sweating through the night and uncomfortable whenever we were standing by the windows. We got our inserts in July and its the best purchase weve made for the house yet. As soon as they were installed you could notice the difference in the temperature in our home. To test them out we left one room without inserts and then compared the difference in temperature using a surface temperature gun. There was a 12 degree difference! We dont have YoY data, but we compared our usage here to the usage at our old rental. That home had a newer AC unit and double pane windows, but our energy bill in our home with an older AC and window inserts dropped by 27%! Weve kept them in all year round, but its still easy to pop them out when we want to air out a room. On top of the energy savings we also got a $1,000 credit on our taxes! This is a great option if you live in a hot climate and still have single pane windows.

EDIT: I've reached out to the support email from Indow's reply below with the order info. I'll update this post with how things go and when the acoustic panels we got for soundproofing our apartment has been received in case it's useful to anyone. Original: Potential customers should be careful: Indow customer service is careless and unprofessional. The timeline that Reed from customer service gave my fiance for four window inserts was 1 week for the brackets and laser measure to arrive from Portland and around 3 weeks for production and shipping. Customer service forgot to ship out the laser and brackets for a week until we called to ask for tracking. We submitted our measurements the day after these arrived. We were then charged for more than $200 more for shipping on the final quote than originally discussed, which still hasn't been resolved. It's now been more than half a month and we still haven't received the official quote and production still hasn't started - this is with us being very responsive to communications from Indow. Our new place is on a very busy street and ordered the inserts to reduce traffic noise. The more this is delayed, the less value we get from the inserts since this a rental. We're now not optimistic at all that the original timeline will be met given the lackluster customer service. We've been as proactive as we could with the whole process and are at our wits' end being told that it would "just take another day" for the package to ship, for the quote to be finalized, etc. Buyer beware!!

Hi Anne, we're so sorry to hear that you didn't experience the results you expected from our acoustic inserts. While our inserts have been thoroughly tested to reduce noise up to 70%, some customers do experience noise leaking in from other sources (vents, thin walls, etc). If you've already explored other potential sources of noise intrusion, please reach out to [email protected]. We'd love to learn more about your situation, as our acoustic inserts usually perform very well in reducing road noise. We very much do care about the experience of our customers. We've recently made some changes to our internal systems and some of our follow-up processes have suffered as a result, but we're working on making sure we're able to check-in with all of our customers to confirm our inserts meet their expectations.

Hi Christina, that's so great to hear you were able to see and feel such a huge difference in the temperature and energy use of your home - all while keeping your original windows intact and saving some money. Stay cool this summer in toasty Tuscon!

Hi Clara, I'm so sorry to hear that we haven't lived up to the timeline expectations that were set. We understand how frustrating it can be to live with the discomfort of noise in your daily life. I'd love to look up your order and understand where we went wrong and make sure we can prioritize your order in our production queue. Can you please email [email protected] with your order information? I'm certain we can resolve this and get you your inserts ASAP so you can get back to having a quiet, peaceful space.
