The staff here are truly excellent here and really care about your pet. The entire process from start to finish preparing me for my dogs surgery and post-op care was clear, well explained, professional, and supported with excellent documentation and information. Dr. Kiefer performed an incredible procedure to save my pups ear (and life) and Id recommend him and this center to anyone.

I cant say thank you enough to the whole team at Blue Pearl & especially Dr. Cioffi. Vera has required multiple surgeries to get her in working order. They have communicated in full detail every step of the way. I feel supported in Veras care team for recoveries.

I cant say enough about Dr. Kiefer and his team. Dr. Kiefer performed bilateral knee surgery for my pup (for luxating patellas) 4 years ago and a left knee TPLO 2 months ago for my senior Yorkie. I treat this dog like my baby and suffer every time he is in pain. I truly dreaded these surgeries and was very anxious every time I came into the office. However, Dr. Kiefer is very kind. He eases my anxiety greatly and explains everything very well. He truly cares about his patients and I feel grateful that he did my boys procedures. Mo is also very nice at the front desk and always makes me feel calm too. And the team is good at communicating with owners for any medication refills or making appointments. I truly hope that nobody has to have their pets have surgery. It is a scary and difficult process. However, if you do need it, I highly recommend Dr. Kiefer and his team.

I highly recommend VSCP!! My young corgi Hazel tore her ACL back in September of 2021. After researching and contacting many surgeons throughout the state, (we live in Eugene) we scheduled a TPLO surgery with Dr. Kiefer for mid-October. Both Dr. Kiefer and staff were friendly, compassionate and professional throughout the entire process and the surgery was successful. We were informed that there was a good chance that Hazel may tear the other ACL as this is a common occurrence. As predicted, her opposite ACL tore mid-January (roughly 10 weeks post-op from her first surgery.) I called them that day and they were able to schedule a same day consult/surgery if this was needed. We traveled back up to Portland and went through the entire process for a second time. Once again, the care was top notch and staff was helpful and happy to answer all of my questions. I am pleased to report that we are roughly 6 months post op from the second surgery and Hazel is a happy, sassy corgi chasing squirrels and loving life. Thank you Dr. Kiefer and staff for all that you do!!

If you have been struggling finding the way to save your dog's life and finally get to read this, I wish you the best... please remember to take deep breath and have faith.  Our journey was years ago but as of now 2022 we still have a very healthy dog who makes us happy every day.    Thought I should share.  Long story, after total 5 vets, hopeless, and wasted a lot of money.  We finally got to an internal medicine vet who diagnosed our dog with liver shunt - one of reasons that caused seizures.   He referred us to Dr Simpson right away.  Decision for big operation had made overnight.  Liver surgery for a 4 year old healthy looking dog was beyond stress.  It's not at all easy process but everything went well.  She is now turning 9 and honestly every day we look at her it's like she has a second life just to have more years with us.  The surgeon was very focused and straight forward, maybe a little too straight when she wanted us to give the answer yes or no at the consultation so she can book another surgery in that slot.  We of course need it desperately but 4 thousands dollars of unknown result we need to take a moment.  That's the only overwhelmed part from overall experience here.  But Dr obviously a grade A surgeon who is able to fix our dog.  Don't expect her to be sweet and caring.  That's not her.  But the surgery result is all we cared about.  Our pup was there for 5 nights after surgery for seizure watch.  Their night-shift staff was beyond amazing. She picked up our phone call every night and spent time talking to us to make sure we can go sleep knowing our pup is taken care of.  We called multiple times some nights and she's always good to us.  At the end Dr gave a little discount.  So the amount was estimated to start I know it could be more or less but it's a nice gesture after this hard journey. We are very thankful but hope we don't have to go back there ever again (which is a good thing!). Bless all doggies that have to come here and hope they all be healthy and happy again. Best of luck!
