Got charged for a license recovery fee and taxes. In Oregon!? Never been charged for that at a U-Haul in my life, except for taxes in Idaho. They said because it was a national company. Well so is Walmart and they don't charge taxes here. And they made the excuse that the "license recovery fee" was in case I lost a plate. So I got charged for "losing a plate" before I even got the keys. The vehicle wasn't clean and had unreported damage before picking it up too. They called "corporate" to ask about the charges, but I didn't get to speak with them. Convenient, right? Will never do business here again. I'll stick to a real U-Haul location where they don't jab you with hidden fees.

Called to reserve a truck for 4 hours. Was told 19.95 plus mileage @ .59/mile plus $1 environmental fee. Expected to put on 40 miles, so, about 25 bucks. Then you get there and there's $10 insurance which only covers their truck. And there's apparently tax. And a dolly is $10. Story is, we ended up with a $76 bill plus gas. It is not, but almost feels like Bait & Switch. You think "Yeah, that work is worth up to $45." Then you're sliding into $90 with the gas. Learned that we won't do that again.
