On Store Portland, 23rd is an aesthetically pleasing sportswear shop. They sell shoes, apparel, and accessories, That correlate with running. A pair of shoes are at the higher end ($$$). A piece of apparel is usually ($60+). The employees are knowledgeable about the products in the store. This place is a hub for the local running community. There are regular events, movement sessions, and group runs that are hosted at this location. Overall, if you're a runner in need of some new clothing, running equipment, or a pair of shoes, this is the place to go.

Buyer Beware !! On Running engages in shady sales tactics and do not stand by their products. I purchased a pair of running shoes $179.99. I bought a size 10, the size I normally buy and this was my first pair of On. The sales rep was completely distracted and brought me the wrong size more than once of different models I was trying. The shoes felt a bit loose and I was concerned about the fit. They don't have a treadmill in store. When I selected the model I decided to go with the size 10 and the rep said that I have 30 days to return/exchange if I need to a smaller size. I wore them on two runs totaling 15 miles on pavement. When I tried to exchange them for a 9.5 they said I could 't because I wore them outside and they can't resell them as new. When I shared what was told buy the sales rep and my disappointment the manager with a grin on his face said its OK and walked away. I can't imagine that the cost of the shoes are more that $40 and they sell them for $179.99. I purchase between 4-5 pairs of running shoes a year, which at On, would equate to over $900/year in sales. I guess the one time transaction of $179.99 is more important than properly servicing and supporting their customers. You're better off purchasing from Portland Running Company, Road Runner Sports, or Fleet Feet than the shady operation they got going on on NW 23rd Ave. All I have I for my experience is a $180 pair of shoes that I cannot use, two scabs on the back of my heels, and the dissatisfaction of a two frustrating experiences with in store personnel. Not gonna lie...I like the shoes, but if I ever purchase a pair of On running shoes again it would be some where else, not here. But honestly, I am not sure I can support a company that is so indifferent to their customers. Good Luck

Great to have a location back where you can try your shoes on instead of guessing with online shopping! A great location ask for Maddie for all your shoe and cloth shopping needs! The barista was a nice added bonus
