I feel very grateful that I found Katie. I initially came to her hoping to relieve chronic neck and shoulder issues and Katie was able to help me with that and so much more. Her approach is unlike any one I have worked with, she wants to not only help you feel better but teach you along the way. I really appreciate all I have learned and how much better my body feels each and every day. I highly recommend Katie to anyone no matter what pain you are in - your life will be forever changed.

Katie is a gem. I initially went to see her regarding persistent neck pain/tightness, which she helped beautifully with, and now shes been helping me gain strength and meet my fitness goals. Im continually struck by Katies compassion, generosity, and ability to meet me where Im at. She embodies strength and has empowered me to become stronger than I ever thought was possible. I'm lucky to have Katie in my corner.

I was referred to Katie Kent by an ND for help with chronic (super-disruptive) neck & shoulder tightness from too many years of computering. Over the years Ive tried and failed to resolve the issue through frequent visits to chiropractors, acupuncture, exercise classes, massage, postural adjustment and updated workstation ergonomics. Little did I know Id spend the next 12 months working with Katie to change my structure by learning to crawl, breath, ice-fish, hinge and deadlift. These days the daily neck and shoulder pain is 90% (mostly) gone and we are focused on resolving some other residual issues. As an LMT Katie does great bodywork to address clients chronic issues as well as effect structural change. That said, her clients are also well-served by opting-in to effect these changes for themselves and embarking on a safe and transformative strength training journey under Katies close supervision as a long-time Olympic-style weightlifting athlete. During training sessions Katie teaches as she trains, inspiring clients to cultivate a greater awareness about how they move their bodies, offers helpful insights about anatomical design, structure, function and introduces concepts throughout training sessions like reciprocal inhibition and the relationship between time vs intensity on effecting structural change (be it accidental or on purpose). Katie works with clients to address and resolve chronic muscular skeletal issues as a knowledgeable trainer and self-proclaimed anatomy nerd providing clients simple guidance and clear direction for performing exercises correctly both in studio and while training at home. If you are ready to shift a persistent pattern of chronic pain, have an open mind about how to get there and are willing to do the work, Katie can guide you back to wellness. Pro-tip: Bring a notebook to your session, you dont want to miss a beat!

I met Katie shortly before I had knee surgery to repair tears on my meniscus. It had been about 6 months of regular pain, forcing me to refrain from running, working out, or even so much as doing a full body squat without pain and/or an unsettling click. Katie worked with me to identify the problems I was having and introduced me to a series of progressively more dynamic exercises to build up my mobility and strength to a level beyond where I was before my injury. Besides her mastery of physical therapy (and the fact that Katie is just an awesome person), these three things stood out to me the most: 1: Katie uses a collaborative, educational approach to her work with her clients, and she is a fantastic instructor and coach. Moving my body in new ways was sometimes difficult, but her ability to articulate the exercises using auditory and visual cues was super helpful. Seeing something and hearing it in terms I understood made the process more enjoyable, and especially let me see why certain movements hurt, and how to improve upon them. Real-time cues while doing exercises also helped to hone in on the pieces I might be missing, and especially the pieces I was doing well. Both helped tremendously. 2: Katie is extremely patient. Again, moving my body in new ways was sometimes difficult, which often left me spinning my wheels as I tried to get the movements right. Not once did she even remotely seem frustrated or impatient as I struggled. Instead, she showed enthusiasm for even the smallest improvements, and celebrated all of my little wins. It made learning and getting stronger a pleasant experience that motivated me each step of the way. Katies office is a safe place that fosters improvement in surprising ways. 3: Katie is an empathic practitioner who understands your pain, and truly wants you to get better and be your best self. Knowing that she was on my side, seeing her celebrate my little wins, all of it. Katie made my pain feel understood from the first day, and inspired me to have confidence in both my progress and my potential once I was back in action. I highly recommend Katie for anyone who is ready to feel good in their body. Shes a treasure.

Katie is a true professional and has absolutely changed my life! I am not one to typically give reviews but after a few months of working with Katie, I felt it was important to inform others of the great work she continues to do. She really takes the time to get to know your health history, assess your training/mobility needs by how you move, and provide you with the guidance to take charge of your personal wellness. In my experience, she has aided me in rehabbing injuries from years of team sports, using a movement-based treatment approach. She has an incredible depth of knowledge to create a plan that works for your needs & wants. Before working with her, I struggled to train and recover consistently without being in pain or working around old injuries. In the time since we began working together, not only has my training improved drastically(via pain reduction, form improvement, and strength increases), but my recovery and life outside of physical activity has felt the best it has in years. Another important aspect of training with Katie that is worth mentioning is her incredible kindness and patience, no matter the situation. I have struggled through losses in the family and experienced personal setbacks along the way, and she was totally accommodating to my needs & time frame the entire time. She brings an infectious energy to every session and pushes you to get better; truly a rare person in her industry. If you have any concerns with your training, recovery, or old injuries, do not hesitate to see Katie and Advanced Results. You will not be disappointed!
