Legacy Hospice was being trusted by my brother to a great degree for our mothers end of life care. Unfortunately thanks to the absolute belligerent insistence of the nurse in particular her cremation was ultimately handed off to Tulip in Portland in lieu of one locally. It is more expensive - by a long shot.
After being a career long Legacy supporter this place has fallen, and I am personally and professionally remorseful for anyone Ive ever referred here.
Hospice used to work to support families after - not trample across and change plans for them.

After a second heart attack, my 97 year old mom was sent home on Hospice with Legacy. Everyone from the admission to the end of life nurse was so kind, compassionate and caring. We could not have asked for more during the week she was dying. It was a very difficult week, but they were there to support us every step of way. I refer to them as the angels at Hospice. We cannot thank them enough.

Legacy Hospice workers were skilled, kind and readily available 24/7. Whether by phone or in person they were always compassionate about my mothers care. They promptly provided what was needed to improve her quality of life and insure her comfort. With the help and support of Legacy Hospice we were able to give my Mom a painless and peaceful death.

Poor nursing care, the staff said they had been to the facility to see family when in fact they had not come. The Medical Director made major decisions without even visiting my family. The nurses made things up to bill Medicare more. Just dont do it!

Our experience with Legacy Hospice has been abysmal and damaging during a very difficult time. They sent my mother home with no medication, then sent a coordinator for paperwork prior to a nurse or any medication. They said the hospital should have sent us home with medication, but they didn't. Nor did they give us a signed prescription. We'd previously asked Legacy Hospice staff specifically if we'd have medication when we left and they said no, that it would be brought to us.
They are incredibly incompetent. In particular Michelle Trautwein and two people named Christina and Vera.
