Cherry Blossom Cottage - Residential Care Facility For Seniors

My parents have both been at Cherry Blossom for years and the care and love they receive there is excellent. We could not be happier. I've read some of the negative reviews on this site and really have not experienced any of those issues and suspect those reviewers' veracity.

Horrible place to work. 12 hour shifts with no training. Zombie staff overworked doing back to back 12s on minimal sleep.

Absolutely the worst management ever for residents and employees.. Don't even look at this place for your loved ones.. It all looks good on paper until they get in there. I recommend you talk to other residents before you move your loved ones into this horrible establishment!! It's only pretty on the outside. As a former employee, I do not recommend your loved ones going into this facility.. I truly don't understand how they have been open for so long, the way they treat people.. There are so many new employees that you can literally count the old employees on one hand. That's how high the employee turnover is. As elderly people, they need the same faces. That's what gives them confront, people they know.. Management, not interested in the care of the residents, they want to pile as many people into the facility for a pay check.. They definitely don't care when we're under staff.

Cherry Blossom Cottage has been a wonderful home away from home for my husband after his stroke. It is always so clean, wonderful friendly staff, and he is happy and so thankful for all they do for him. Because of them it has made it easier on the family to know he is in a safe place. I highly recommend Cherry Blossom Cottage if your ever in need for a family member.

Don't go there. This facility was recommended to us by nearby Marquis Mill Park rehab but we cannot recommend. There is a reason this facility does not employ a social worker or mental health professional. The owner/management is demanding and financially/emotionally manipulative with residents and family. This is most likely the reason for high employee turnover. They we're frequently short handed especially in the weekends. Our loved one and family members did not experience a welcoming "care team" approach. Decisions regarding care, care plan and meds were made by owner/management and staff that did not have the medical credentials to be making them. Changes were not appropriately reported to PCP or family. There were a lot of miscommunications/mistakes made with little or no apologies, accountability or responsibility on their end. We experienced a revolving door of RNs, never talking to the same one twice. RN visits were random and without advance notice. Questionable professional oversight with meds and care. Our family and loved one were not part of the "team" during the quarterly assessments. The invitation to discuss only came after they were dictated by staff based on a tracking system and complicated inaccurate/ exaggerated evaluation report. Our loved one felt dehumanized and no longer welcome and moved to a facility more focused on emotional and physical needs vs their bank account. It's too bad they have to pay organizations to find residents and leave good reviews. In our opinion they were only professionals at pretending to care, gaslighting, guilting, blame shifting and remaining faultless. Only here to warn people. No apology, long winded explanation or reply is wanted or needed. One star given for maintaining a clean fairytale cottage facade and the handful of staff that treated our loved one like a human being on a daily basis. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY: This review was purposely made on an account unrecognizable to the owner (Rebecca) to prevent her from inappropriately sharing personal information about our family as she has done in reply to other reviews. Although our experience was not exactly recent, it was in fact real. There were many emails and phone calls from the owner in which she made some pretty inappropriate remarks. There were many opportunities for her to introduce herself to us in person but she chose to hide in her office behind her security monitors. We did not find her the least bit approachable and did not appreciate the aggressive and disrespectful management style we experienced. Instead of going to war over every single issue we found our resolution by moving out. As great as her need is to over explain and control the narrative, it is truly pointless.
