Loved our stay here. From California and really wanted to get into an experience in Portland that was more than just a hotel downtown. Allowed us to be free and have a big, beautiful place on our anniversary. Breakfast was also delicious.

Carol and Brian were fantastic! We had a wedding during the COVID pandemic - they went out of their way to make the event one to remember with ouR limited allowed attendance and helping with the technology to stream the event online. The rooms and facilities were beautiful. Highly recommend this venue for all your events.

*** Edit for 2/11/2021: It is with a heavy heart that I have to report that Portland's White House has been sold as a private residence, and will no longer be functioning as a B&B or event space. My wife and I will always cherish the memories of our wedding here, but unfortunately, looks like we won't be able to spend our one year anniversary revisiting those memories. A tremendous loss for Portland. *** I cannot say enough glowing things about Portland's White House. My wife and I were married here on 5/23/2020, after a long ordeal of having to shift our wedding plans in the wake of COVID-19. We had originally planned on hosting a ceremony for 75 people here, but due to gathering limitations imposed by Oregon's governor, we were forced to reduce our event to just 10 people. We had already put down a down payment for our special day, and we were worried about encountering difficulties adjusting our plans. Carol and Brian, the caretakers of PWH, made this process completely painless. They had the foresight to put together an elopement package that could work within the boundaries of COVID restrictions, which included the entire ceremony, a ZOOM broadcast of the wedding, cake and champagne. Additionally, Carol herself is a talented florist, and assembled the most gorgeous centerpiece, bridal bouquets and boutonnieres, all at the last minute! The venue itself is unparalleled in the Portland metro area (believe me, we looked at them all!): a gorgeous colonial mansion sequestered away in a quiet residential neighborhood. Sitting on a balcony, enjoying the serenity of a sunny Sunday morning, sipping hot tea while swathed in soft satin robes, I cannot think of a better way to spend our first married morning together! Carol and Brian are two of the nicest, friendliest and most accommodating people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, as well as absolute wizards in the kitchen! We were treated to several dishes for the second B in our B&B, including: a savory fruit/yogurt cocktail, some sort of french toast/bread pudding hybrid, crispy bacon and mimosas. Even our gluten-intolerant friend was accommodated with a special meal of her own! Also, I would like to praise Brian for captivating our children, during one of our pre-wedding planning meetings, by serving them warm, fresh baked cookies and ice cream, so that we could discuss the particulars with Carol without being distracted by kids running wild and touching things they shouldn't. They are so beloved by my wife and I, that we plan on having them in attendance at a special party/reception that we will be throwing next year, once COVID is a thing of the past, to celebrate our wedding with the family and friends that could not attend. They are truly wonderful, caring and compassionate souls! As an added bonus, we were presented with the opportunity to have the Oregonian cover our nuptials, for a special report on weddings in this tumultuous time. My wife and I could not be more enraptured with Portland's White House and its staff, and we look forward to coming back and staying a night or two frequently, both to relive memories of our perfect wedding, and to take a well-earned respite from the clash and clamor of the daily grind. The peace and serenity that enfolds you here is as calming and warm as the luxurious bath robes (which we bought)!
