We are sorry you had a bad experience; however your safety and that of others on the road around you is paramount. When we pulled your car in to the shop to perform the requested service, we discovered your brake pedal went almost all the way to the floor. Your brakes were unsafe, so much so that the technician almost hit another vehicle before they were able to stop the vehicle. Due to the severity of the issue, we decided to perform a diagnostic service for you free of charge as a courtesy so that we could identify the issue as your vehicle was dangerous to drive. Your brake pads nor rotors were the problem. Your brake caliper was seized causing your brake pads to not make contact with one of your rotors. The correct way to fix this problem is to replace the pads, rotors and calipers all at the same time. Sure, there are shortcuts we could have taken such as just replacing a caliper but that is not the correct or proper way to repair the problem. We do not “turn” rotors at our shop as it shortens their life and we have found that in the long run this ends up costing our customers more than if we had just done the job properly to begin with. Your brake pads were worn unevenly due to the faulty caliper. The brake pads, calipers and rotors should all be replaced at the same time. When we contacted you to advise you of the issue, you informed us that it had been that way for a long time. Ultimately you declined the brake repair, which is your choice. Our job as a reputable shop is to inform you of what we find. We do not use strongarm sales tactics to get you to spend your money here, but it’s important that you as a consumer have all the information you need to make the best decision for you, your car and your wallet. We were simply providing you with the information that we had and advised you of the problems we found. We value our relationships with our customers and respect their choices. In short, we are genuinely sorry you had a bad experience, but your safety is key and if it cost us a one star review to let you know that your vehicle is unsafe, then we’ll take it. We’d rather have lower reviews than have someone get hurt.
