Ponderosa Inn

Denise and Kristina were so kind and helpful when I arrived. I arrived at midnight and my banking institution ever watchful for fraud shut down my card. Traveling, I had down graded to just one card. Anyway, it took till morning to work out the details and I did NOT have to sleep in the car! It helped to have friendly kind people to work with. Thank you. The room was quiet, clean and pleasant. It was the perfect location for everything and everyone I was visiting. I was even able to invite guests over for a 6 hr game of D&D in the dining area.

I'd describe the Ponderosa Inn as a diamond in the rough (West end of Gresham on Division St.). It's existence remains unknown to many, and therefore it seems to have a "hometownsy" (yes, I just made that word ) feel to it. If you're looking for a place to stay that has a clean, decent, and overall peaceful atmosphere, at a price that's not out of reach for most budgets, a staff that seems to actually care, and are willing to take the steps necessary to make sure that your stay is comfortable and trouble free, in a location that is convenient to many amenities, including shopping, mass transit, and very nearby (within short walking distance) access to multiple restaurants, and even a convenience/liquor store, then I'd recommend giving this hotel a shot at your business. I would've given 5 stars, however, during my stay the pool/spa was open, but we were warned by staff against using either of them due to a chemical imbalance. Had this minor inconvenience not have occurred during our most recent visit, I would have nothing but positive things to say. I'd really like to give this establishment the five stars that it actuality deserves.... All in all though, I'd say it was an excellent hotel at a decent price with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a top notch concierge. Not bad Ponderosa Inn, not bad at all! Rooms: Pristine cleanliness, all amenities in working order, and they even had the washcloths in the bathroom folded in such a way as to hold the soaps and mini shampoo/conditioner bottles in adorable pockets, honorable mention to whoever is responsible for this! Food & drinks: Heidi's Restaurant and Dragon Palace (Chinese food) both within very short walking distance and both have great cuisine available at almost any time of day. *Extra kudos to Dragon Palace for their speedy service, friendly staff, and incredibly generous portion sizes!* Noteworthy details: Pool and Spa area looked incredibly inviting, but sadly we were unable to make use of them during a previous stay due to them being closed and ongoing renovations, and this stay due to a chemical imbalance issue. Oh well, maybe during our next stay, 3rd times a charm, right?

We have returned to stay at the Ponderosa Inn. Once again we are enjoying our stay as the entire staff is very friendly and welcoming!
