Best car purchase experience I've ever had. Friendly, efficient and so helpful. Had me in a new car in a couple hours and worked with my odd situation. Highly recommend!

I had the best experience at Family Size Motors that Ive ever had in buying a car before. Marcel listened to what I was looking for and narrowed in on one car that would fit my needs, admitting that there probably wasnt anything else on the lot that would fit me right now. He gave me time to do my own research, answer questions, and let me make the decision with no pressure. I am walking away with a four-wheel-drive Sequoia thats going to put me on the road to start a new consulting business. I am thrilled!

We became interested in buying a car on-line from Family Size Motors in Gladstone, Oregon that was advertised on CarGuru and TrueCar. The vehicle was a 2010 Jeep Liberty that had two previous owners and no known mechanical issues or accidents according to the CARFAX report provided by the dealership. It had less than 32,000 miles and it was the color we wanted. We spoke with the salespeople (Marcel) to confirm the information and explored the possibility of a third party inspecting the car. Marcel said that they could not take off the lot because of insurance. We specifically asked about the condition of the vehicle as we were worried about rust or other defects on the outside. Marcel assured us that they had inspected the vehicle and it was in good condition. We found a reliable private carrier that could transport the vehicle as we live in South Dakota. Once the car was delivered the headaches began. We were distressed to find that the paint was sun-faded, and the clear coat was flaking away on almost every area of the vehicle. When we called Family Sized Motors about it, Marcel answer was that he said it looked good for that age of vehicle. (even though that is not what we asked) We went to several different body shops, and they said it would need to be repainted(8-10 thousand dollars). The paint issues turned out to be the least of the trouble. During the first couple of days, we noticed electronic issues. We thought it was maybe the battery and had it checked out by Interstate battery. They assured us the battery was ok. We had called Family Sized Motors and the salesman assured us that we had a warranty. We then made an appointment at an AAA certified auto repair shop. The repair place was backed up so was unable to get in immediately. When we got the car in for repairs, they indicated that it was the TIPM (faulty and burnt). It took awhile to get the part and to set up a time to get it programmed. In the meantime, we found that the warranty did not cover any of the repairs. We called Family Sized Motors again, and the salesman said we should have bought the extended warranty. We had asked to speak to the owner, but Marcel refused so we asked that the owner call us, which never happened. Trying to get the title from them was a nightmare. Every time we called or texted, Marcel assured us it was on the way. We finally had to get the DMV involved to get the title. We had to buy a temporary permit as the DMV said it was illegal to keep reprinting the original paperwork as Marcel were doing and changing the date. We also had to pay late and penalty fees in SD when we finally got it registered. Family Sized Motors did refund us $792.14 for the title fee, doc fee, and state tax. It took over 2 months to get the title. Teresa is almost 66 and Jim is 71. We feel we were taken advantage of. It is probably one of the worst nightmares we have ever experienced and what should have been a fun purchase turned out otherwise. Please help us and others that have been taken advantage of by Family Size Motors.

My review at deleted? Thats funny. Ill just review it again. 3 years ago I bought a 2012 gmc Acadia from these guys for 10k. It had a ton of issues after we bought it. So we brought it back asking for a refund. They decided to fix the problems to make a happy customer. So I went with it, they fixed a few things but once it hit a certain dollar amount out of their budget they decided to deny finishing the services telling me it was minor things. Well the Acadia needed timing and a water pump. I can see why we decided to stop helping us. But why offer to pay for repair if you arent going to go through with it? Makes no sense. Anyways if you are looking to buy from them please be aware that the car might have issues. Now if they offer to fix the problems, dont even take that chance with them. I would personally not buy from this dishonest dealership. I know where Ive purchased my vehicles. I wouldnt be surprised if you said I cant find it in our system. The usual excuse.
