Ive been here multiple times and typically the employees are kind, friendly, and helpful, but recently I and a group of friends had a really awful experience here that has made all of us reluctant to shop here again. We went to Hot Topic because it was a friends birthday and its her favorite store. An employee loudly accused us of shoplifting and stealing without any evidence and was incredibly passive-aggressive in her confrontation. We werent able to get a word in and complied with what she said, but she continued to act hostile, made a scene in the middle of the store, berated other employees, and then kicked us out of the store. It shocked I and my friends because wed never been treated like that there before, and a couple of my friends left teary-eyed. Because it happened quickly and we all felt scared and threatened, we didnt think to catch this employees name, but she was white, had split dyed hair with one half being pink and a pastel kind of vibe to her clothes.
